I bought this mascara after hearing really good things about it, I’m always on the lookout for a better mascara! This is the L’Oréal False Lash Sculpt mascara, which I picked up from Boots for £9.99.
I was intrigued by the weird triangular brush and thought it would be a good one to try out. Usually I go for mascaras with quite a large brush so they capture more lashes, so this one kinda goes against everything I normally opt for!
The formula of this mascara is really black, which is something I look for in a mascara as there’s nothing worse than an ashy grey mascara. The formula and the brush are what lets this mascara down for me – although the formula is black, it clumps VERY easily.
The brush ‘bristles’ (I think they are plastic actually) are too short to really comb through your lashes once the mascara has been applied, so it means you end up clumping over the initial clumps you have already put on your lashes.
I thought once this dried up a bit it might be a bit better, but it’s so difficult to use I was really disappointed. What I have been using this mascara for is my lower lash line – if you start from the roots of your lower lashes and make sure you aren’t trying to comb your lashes you can get a nice 60’s type feel with a bit more colour impact at the root rather than fully mascara’d lower lashes.
While this has been drying out, I did go and repurchase my old faithful – the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara and I’m SO looking forward to using this again! I also gave the Fairydrops Scandal Queen mascara a go (above) and I quite liked it, but very soon I realised I’d need quite a strong cleanser to remove it (this one is waterproof so I think I need an oil based cleanser to remove it!)
All in all, I’m pretty disappointed with the L’Oréal False Lash Sculpt, even though I’m able to use it on my lower lashes I was expecting much more from it!
Have you guys got a favourite mascara?!
Let me know what it is in the comments!
