I’ve been pretty busy the last few weekends and it’s made me realise that recently I have probably done the best in terms of trying to condense down my make up bag :). I thought I’d share with you the products that I’ve chosen that have pride of place in my make up bag when I am off on my travels on a weekend away or hen do like the weekend just gone!
I try to travel as light as possible and usually try to take multi tasking products – some of which you will recognise as I more than likely will have already spoken about them before.
My make up bag of choice is the Zoeva Rose Gold clutch that my make up brush collection came in.
Not only is it beautiful, but it’s the perfect size for storing a few choice make up tools and the essential things that ensure you can get your face from zombie to flo’less without having to carry shed loads.
When it comes to skin I have a few products that might be small but make a big difference to my make up.
The Esteé Lauder foundation I use is the Double Wear, which comes in a beautiful frosted glass bottle – NOT appropriate for travelling. Especially with the turbulence it would experience being banged about and hurled up stairs in Tube stations (poor little bottle). So I decanted some of this into a little empty sample pot I got from the Body Shop. For concealer, I use the Maybelline Anti Age Eraser Eye which is bloody brilliant at hiding those bags from late nights, in combination with the Maybelline Fit Me concealer for a bit more coverage.
The Revlon Photoready powder is PERFECT for setting your concealer without it flashing back too much in photography which is one of the reasons I bought this in the first place (it also has a little mirror in it which is useful).
Finally for skin I use the Tanya Burr Peachy Glow Palette as it has a bronzer, highlighter AND blush in it! Genius!
For eyes/eyebrows I use the Soap & Glory Brow Archery (all my packaging has rubbed off now lol) set with a Rimmel clear brow gel. The mascara of choice is a teeny tiny one, a little Benefit Roller Lash sample which is actually really good!
For tools, again I try to keep it down to a few key essentials – from Real Techniques my two favourite brushes and most USED brushes are the Buffing brush which I use for foundation and the Contour brush that is ideal for concealer under your eyes.
I always make sure I take my Tweezerman tweezers (you never know when you might need them), with a Laura Mercier cheek brush for powder and an FCUK brush which doubles for both bronzer and blusher :).
What essentials do you have in your travel make up bag?
I’d love to hear your essential products 🙂
I am always opening to swapping things out or finding a larger make up bag…I mean, no I’m not that’s a lie. Who said that?! *looks around*
