Kiko Cream Crush Eyeshadow – 05 Pearly Silver Rose

Hi Everyone!

Today I have a review for you, for something that became a saving grace. I bought this little Kiko Cream Eyeshadow during my last stint in London, it was discounted and the colour just screamed out to me!

I had always wanted to try some of the Kiko cosmetics range, having tried some of their nail polishes before. This little pot of cream eyeshadow is ’05 Pearly Silver Rose’, which is a beautiful irridescent silver/gold.

This is a long lasting cream eyeshadow which is meant to be super blendable, (auto correct wants this to say bendable lol) with up to 10 hours staying power.

The texture of this shadow really is silky soft – it feels velvety in the pot but when you start to apply it to the lid (without primer, may I add) it starts to set to a powder. I think if you plan to blend this I would get that blending brush at the ready pretty sharpish as you have a small window of opportunity before this sets!

The colour pay off is brilliant, you can see how sheeny and pigmented the shadow is and it only cost £3.40!

I am amazed by the quality of this cream eyeshadow and I can say it did actually stay put all night! I used this with a matte black shadow in the crease and then I patted this over the inner third of my eyelid.

The only thing I’m not keen on (and ALL beauty brands are guilty of this) is that when you get these little pots of shadows they have a blown up bottom (as in the glass makes it look like you’re getting more product than you are). In actual fact, you’re getting a whopping SIX ML

Wow, generous!

Lol 🙂

Have you tried any Kiko cosmetics?

Thanks for reading guys 🙂

Trendspotting – Ear Climbers from Karma Seven

So, a while ago I was introduced to a body jewellery brand called Karma Se7en.They sell all types of body jewellery but as the only piercings I have are my ears (done in India when I was very little) I love taking a look at their earrings and accessories.

I was blown away by the quality of their products (take a look at my previous post here) and they have started to bring out lots of new designs, including ear climbers and ear cuffs which really caught my eye! Today I’ll be reviewing two of their ear cuffs that I think are perfect for an evening out, a wedding or a party.

The quality of these products is really second to none, they are made from silver so they are slightly more expensive than any you would get from say New Look or Dorothy Perkins. Being made from silver, I think this helps the earrings/ear cuffs lie right and it means they will last you forever!

Not only that, but they offer buy one get one free on all jewellery as well! Has got me considering getting my nose pierced for reals now…

The first item I am loving is the Crystal Vine Ear Climber Earrings (here) which are really beautiful. They are £20.95, but are very sturdy and fit really snugly into the ear piercing. They are so bright and shiny that they are really striking, especially if you have dark hair like I do. They have a longer thin bar that you can bend out to put the earring on, once the bar is inside your piercing you can push it back to keep it in place. These are so easy to wear and stay in place surprisingly well (trust me if they can last me running up the stairs then that’s pretty damn good).

The second set of ear climbers I received were the Crystal Diamond Climber Ear Cuffs (here). I think these are my favourite out of the two 🙂 as these are really beautiful. I love the way these frame the ear, at first I was a bit worried about putting them on because of the thin bar (looked a bit scary of first) but they aren’t complicated to wear at all.

If you want to take a look at their new body jewellery (if you are more adventurous than me and want to look at their belly piercings, ear stretchers and nose studs) then click the link here!

I love these earrings, I think they will be great to wear to a wedding as they’ll really stand out.

Have a lovely day everyone! 🙂

Karma Seven – The trendiest earrings I ever did see!

My dear mother is a lover of all things shiny. Give her a gaudy diamanté necklace and she is a very happy lady. I tend to prefer more subtle jewellery but I do like things that tend to look a bit different too.

One of the things I am LOVING at the moment is earrings that have a really lovely design that hangs just below the ear lobe. They look so striking and they are great way to make a statement on a night out or at a special occasion.

I am a very lucky girl, as I was approached by a company I hadn’t heard of before, called Karma Seven. They sell all types of unique body jewellery. They currently have a special and brilliant promotion running where when you choose one set of earrings, you get another free!

The only body piercings I have (steady) are my ears, so I decided on the ‘Front & Back Jacket earrings’. The designs I chose were the Leaves, Super Nova and Royal Crown design earrings. I loved how these looked on site but I wasn’t expecting them to look and feel SO GOOD in real life!

They were packaged in a lovely dark purple box, but the best thing was that because the earrings themselves are made from silver they FEEL like the highest quality earrings I have ever owned! I already have a fake gold pair of front and back jacket earrings from Matalan, but they were only £3 and because the material is so shoddy they don’t sit right anyway.

One genius part of the Karma Seven jewellery design is that for this style of earring, they have thought of everything and given you three holes so you can decide how far down under the ear lobe you want the design to show. This is perfect if you have smaller ears, like me! (teeny tiny elf ears)

Although I was a bit skeptical to try such shiny earrings, they don’t look cheap or too blingy, they are sparkly and twinkly and they add a really elegant feel to any outfit. I am really impressed with this company and I don’t tend to say that kind of thing lightly. I can’t wait to wear these to make an outfit look a bit more glam…or just to the supermarket 😀

Please take a look at the products on offer and make sure you take advantage of the buy one get one free promo! Check out their Youtube channel too 🙂

Tell Me About It, Studs – Body Jewellery Shop

Hello Everyone!

Warm Wednesday wishes to you all.

Today’s post is centred on jewellery; a self confessed magpie I am very interested in all things shiny, reflective but also minimalist at the same time. I was kindly sent two pairs of earrings to review by the fantastic Body Jewellery Shop. Their site is brilliant if you have various piercings such as belly button or nose piercing, but in particular it has some really chic earpiercing jewellery.

I am a bit of a wimp and don’t have any other piercings other than my ears pierced. (How many times can I say the word pierced). I once went with my friend Becky when she got her belly button pierced and I looked at the exact wrong time when the white bar was still in place of the body bar they were going to put in *shudder*. I got my ears pierced many moons ago, in India when I was very little, hence why they are wonky (thumbs up all round).

Moving onto the products I received samples of, I chose two very simple but beautiful stud sets. The first is my favourite out of the two, these are very shiny silver glitter stud earrings. These are an absolute bargain at only £1.99 and in the flesh they look much more expensive. What I really like about these is that they are eye catching but not too in your face, and the domed clear top really makes the silver bright.

Try not to look at my abnormally small ears

The second pair I chose were a cute little pair of stainless steel star earrings. These only cost £3.49, which is brilliant because if you think about somewhere like Accessorise on the high street these would cost at least £5. What I like about these is that they aren’t so small they could get lost in your ear hole, but they are simple and delicate and really great quality.

If only I was brave enough to consider a more adventurous piercing (by that I mean belly or nose, calm down erryone). Take a look at the site here if you want to, and have fun browsing all the different types or jewellery!

Thanks for reading 🙂

Essie ‘Aruba’ and OPI ‘Silver Shatter’

Hello Everyone!

Today’s nail polish look that I am bringing to you uses one type of varnish that was all the rage about a year ago. Shatter nail polishes started to come out in all types of colours and shimmery shades, all over the shop!

I chose Essie’s ‘Aruba’ as the base shade in this look. This is one of my most favourite colours in the world ever, and I have to say trying something new with the shatter polish over the top actually pained me as ‘Aruba’ looked SO good just as it was.

‘Aruba’ is a brilliant polish, it goes on very opaque, particularly on second coat. To me it reminds me of Egypt and Cleopatra when I look at it, it also looks great with tanned skin.

The OPI Silver Shatter shade that I have used in this post looks like quite a dark silver in the bottle, but as soon as you apply it, it actually comes out quite a cold, bright silver. I really like this, as even if you by accident put a thick coat of the shatter on, as it dries it separates just enough to show the colour underneath and it doesn’t make your finished look TOO silvery.

I love the combination of blue and silver together, the more I look at this too the more I think I should probably have done this around winter, but I still really like it.

Have you guys tried any good shatter polishes? Also, what is your favourite Essie polish?

I’m really tempted to get a cool lilaccy blue colour but every time I look at my vast collection of polishes I can hear my cabinet groaning at the thought of the weight of MORE nail varnishes (gah).

The Ultimate Eyelash Curler

For years and years I had used the same cheap eyelash curlers that I had bought when I was a teenager. I had bought them from Boots, just simple ones that had seen their best days!

Then, the Shu Uemura eyelash curlers waltzed their chrome-y way into my life. They are so beautiful! Well designed so they fit snugly in your hand, and the black silicone pad is so comfortable and gentle when you close the curlers.

I was so used to the more flimsy, well worn pad on my old eyelash curlers that I was really surprised at what a difference a good silicone pad would make. To be honest, I was probably being a bit rough in the way that I used to use my old ones, and what I noticed the most was that you hardly need to apply any pressure in order to get a good curl.

I think using these, I won’t actually have to curl my eyelashes every day. I am quite lucky as I have naturally long eyelashes, and actually I doubt I will want to ruin these curlers by curling my lashes AFTER putting on mascara!

These curlers seem like a worthwhile investment to me, and will probably last a lifetime! They will probably last much better than my old ones :p

Also it came with a little cat charm which is apparently meant to look like Karl Lagerfeld’s cat?!
