Kiko Cream Crush Eyeshadow – 05 Pearly Silver Rose

Hi Everyone!

Today I have a review for you, for something that became a saving grace. I bought this little Kiko Cream Eyeshadow during my last stint in London, it was discounted and the colour just screamed out to me!

I had always wanted to try some of the Kiko cosmetics range, having tried some of their nail polishes before. This little pot of cream eyeshadow is ’05 Pearly Silver Rose’, which is a beautiful irridescent silver/gold.

kiko cream eyeshadow pearly silver rose

This is a long lasting cream eyeshadow which is meant to be super blendable, (auto correct wants this to say bendable lol) with up to 10 hours staying power.

The texture of this shadow really is silky soft – it feels velvety in the pot but when you start to apply it to the lid (without primer, may I add) it starts to set to a powder. I think if you plan to blend this I would get that blending brush at the ready pretty sharpish as you have a small window of opportunity before this sets!

kiko cream eyeshadow

The colour pay off is brilliant, you can see how sheeny and pigmented the shadow is and it only cost £3.40!

I am amazed by the quality of this cream eyeshadow and I can say it did actually stay put all night! I used this with a matte black shadow in the crease and then I patted this over the inner third of my eyelid.

The only thing I’m not keen on (and ALL beauty brands are guilty of this) is that when you get these little pots of shadows they have a blown up bottom (as in the glass makes it look like you’re getting more product than you are). In actual fact, you’re getting a whopping SIX ML

Wow, generous!

Lol 🙂

Have you tried any Kiko cosmetics?

Thanks for reading guys 🙂

What does Christmas mean for a Beauty Blogger?

I wanted to write about something topical today – and low and behold (is that how you’re meant to write that?!) it’s Christmas in two days!

Christmas means a lot of things to a lot of people…for me it means family, presents, lots of food and relaxing watching Christmas films and dreadful prime time soaps (cue the point where I start playing with my presents). For my second Christmas as a beauty blogger it makes me think of any new presents that I can use for tutorials and that I can make the most of my time being off work to satisfy my hobby.

christmas mean to beauty

As I say, it’s been about a year of what I like to call PROPER BLOGGING. I started my blog in April last year and didn’t really touch it until Christmas last year. I’ve had a great year starting out and last Christmas was where I really started to engage with Instagram, the blogging community and it was when I tried Twitter and realised I hated it (:S).

The extra time to blog has been great – I’ve loved sitting at my computer and thinking of ideas and videos that I can do and getting ahead and prepared is the best way to spend this kind of time. I’ve had time to relax too which has been great (I’m one of those people where if I have free time I usually FIND ways to fill it rather than just sit there, blame my mum for that).

What does Christmas mean for you? Especially my fellow blogging community – do you use your christmas for more posts and videos, or use it to completely forget about blogging?

I can now take this opportunity to say a big MERRY CHRISTMAS to you all, be safe, spend time with your loved ones and I can’t wait for what the next year will hold!

Thanks guys,

Roshni xxx

P.S. I can’t believe people are still reading my posts. If you have read up to here comment saying something like ‘CHRISTMAS ON FLEEK’ hahahaha

Week 2 – The Body Shop Advent Calendar!

Hello People!

Now, having had the second week of my Body Shop ’24 Happy Days’ Advent Calendar, I can reveal the goodies that have been living in those teeny tiny boxes for the past couple of weeks. There has been a mix of skincare and make up, I was hoping for some more make up orientated products but there’s still some days left!

You can see Week 1 here!

Grab a cup of tea and take a look at days 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 :)…

This week we have had:

  • Vitamin E Hydrating Toner
  • Body Shop Eyelash Curlers
  • Elderflower Unperformed Eye Gel
  • Heart Soap
  • Almond Hand Cream

Out of these I was really pleased to get the Almond Hand Cream which is a staple in my nails routine and I’m really intrigued by the Elderflower Eye Gel. I hate Elderflower smells which is why I’m particularly pleased that this has no smell.

I’m excited to see what comes out of the little boxes next week! 😀

Have any of you guys got this advent calendar? What do you think of the Body Shop products? 🙂

Thank you for reading everyone, I hope you’re all getting in the Christmas spirit because I am!!

Deborah Lippmann ‘Roses in the Snow’ – Review

Hello People!

I hope you’re having a lovely weekend so far :). I’ve got a very BEAUTIFUL nail polish set to review for you today, by Deborah Lippmann. The set is called ‘Roses in the Snow‘ and features a gorgeous blush pink, muted shade and a pretty pink glitter top coat. You can buy this set from Selfridges, (apologies may be out of stock), Look Fantastic, and I think you can get it from Harvey Nichols too (my family and I had an early, fake Christmas and my sister bought this for me as a present :)).

This set is packaged so nicely, it actually has snow in the clear section of the packaging <3

deblippmann

I’m really a massive fan of blushed pinks at the moment and have been wearing this colour in every way that I can!

The bottles are so pretty, I love the way the actual glass bottle is different to normal polish bottles because at the bottom there is a chic looking indent in the base of it. The bottle tops have a pearlescent feel to them which make them feel really luxurious. The shades themselves are stunning…‘Modern Love’ is the blushed pink polish and ‘Some Enchanted Evening’ is the pink glitter.  The shades and the formula is very good – but I can’t say I’m wild about the staying power of these.

Using my trusty Seche Vite top coat the tips of the polish still wore off, and the glitter top coat adhered well but didn’t last very long. I found that the polish was PEELABLE by around day 4 – which is a real shame. I don’t know if this is due to the formula OR the fact that I used Seche Vite over the top (usually it lasts a lot longer than that, sometimes two weeks).

roses in the snow

I really like the shades of these polishes but I have to say I was disappointed with the lasting power – when you think about the price of this set it is quite a lot for just two polishes where the bottles are actually quite small. Something like Essie would probably be better value for money and the formula could be better too!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post!

On a quick note, I’m pleased to tell you I am almost at 300 followers on Instagram and I’m now on 425 followers on Blog Lovin’!

Thanks to anyone who is following me, I genuinely love being part of these two platforms and I am particularly obsessed with Instagram <3

A Christmas Beauty Wishlist – Sephora

Oh my, Sephora. What have you done to my eyes. I have been browsing (as you do) on Sephora and I always tend to look and NEVER BUY. I think I have only ever ordered once from Sephora and I can’t even remember what it was that I bought lol.

This Christmas I have started looking for presents for others – you know, I’m selfless like that (tsch). But along the way, we have all been there when we see products that we think – hmm I would quite like that! So I thought I’d show you my coveted products here 🙂

SEPHORA COVETED LIST – GO!

nars

NARS ‘One Shocking Moment Cheek Palette’ – $69.00

BE STILL MY BEATING HEART – omfg this looks so good. I want this so bad! This would be the most versatile contour, highlight and blush palette AND it would have a massive mirror. What more do you need?

Kat Von D Ink Liner Trio – $25.00

A trio of amazing eye liners, you have a choice of brown, purple AND black! I’m just linking to this as ALL images I searched for are rubbish.

Deborah Lippman ‘Roses In The Snow Duo’ – $15.00

This nail polish set looks so lovely. The blushed rose colour looks like it would be very flattering and the glitter looks insane!

IN THE SALE!! Colourful Sequin Glitter – Sephora – $5

sephora

For a sale item, this looks great for the festive season and if you were to pack this onto the eyelid then it would be a perfect dramatic eyeshadow to turn heads (and eyes). 🙂

I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at the things I’ve loved drooling over at Sephora!

Have a lovely weekend everyone 🙂

The Nail Polishes That Say ‘Autumn’

One of the best things about autumn (or Fall for any of you across the ocean) is that you can crack out the mauves, the burgundy reds and the burnt oranges.

Autumnal colours just bellow messages of warm nights by the fire, hot chocolates and feeling snug wrapped in a knitted scarf :).

So I thought I’d show you some of my favourite nail polishes for Autumn time – they are a mix of purples, reds and teals. A few glitters are thrown into the mix too, as when you start to move towards Christmas time you can’t beat a bit of glitter!

nails1

First up, we have Essie’s ‘Bordeaux’ (pictured above) which is a beautiful burgundy, maroon colour. It’s quite dark, but that’s what winter is all about – it’s filled with dark and moody shades. This is my newest purchase and it has a brilliant, glassy effect. Essie polishes are amazing!

Next we have Ciaté’s ‘Silhouette’, which is a gorgeous dark red, with flecks of glitter running through it. It isn’t coarse bits of glitter, it’s quite fine but it is quite dramatic once you’ve painted it on. (By the way, why does silhouette have a H in it? Sil HOO ette). The glitter is like a green/browny/red reflection, which is SO pretty.  This takes a good two coats to build up, but once you’ve done the second one it’s beautifully opaque.

nails2

Front and centre, we have Tanya Burr’s Midnight Sparkles, which is a firm autumn favourite of mine. This is quite a bright but dark purple glittery polish. Compared to the Ciaté polish this comes out quite opaque already (you can tell Tan has taken time to look at the formula for these polishes). This is a great polish for those times when you are in a rush – a few  sweeps of this and you’re done! I’d recommend a layer of Seche Vite over the top to give a glassy finish that dries really quick!

pic3

Lastly, we have a No 17 polish and another from Tanya’s range (you can tell I like them, right?) The 17 polish is called ‘Navy Glint’, which is summed up by the name really! It’s a teal coloured glitter, which has AMAZING opacity. Seriously, a few strokes of this nail polish and you are done. It can look quite dull as it is so I’d recommend using a top coat :).

Then, Tanya Burr’s ‘New York Night’ is a deep purple that has no shimmer in it. Sometimes when using this, it’s so dark it looks a bit black, but I quite like that about it. This is quite good in terms of coats – I’d say max 2 coats is needed. This is a great kind of polish to use if you are going for a bit more of a grungy look, or if you’ve used kohl to line your eyes for example.

Those are my favourite polishes for Autumn time, I hope you’ve enjoyed this post and feel free to leave me a comment if you want to know any more about them!

On a side note…my next goal on Blog Lovin’ is to hit 400 followers! That seems so insane to me, thank you so much :), if you’d like to follow me you can click the image below and you will be taken straight to my page – no faffing about!

Green Foiled Cream Eyeshadow Review from Born Pretty Store

I’m all up for make up products that make your life easier. If you are in a rush to get ready, one of the places you can save time is when creating an eyeshadow look.

I love products that can change your make up look dramatically with the least amount of effort, and the newest product I was kindly gifted from Born Pretty Store does just that. I actually have an exclusive 10% off discount code which you can use in the store…on top of that they offer free shipping worldwide too!

The product I got was this Highlighting Eyeshadow, which is only $1.99 and I chose the number 05 which is a gorgeous olive-y green shade. It is a curious little thing as it comes in a little round plastic ball with a screw top, where it holds a doe foot applicator so although it says powder, it’s actually more like a cream eyeshadow consistency.

What I also love is the colour range, if you take a look below you’ll see just how many colours they have!

1

The best thing about these is that although they come with a teeny tiny price tag, they actually swatch really pigmented and they last very well too. I’d recommend using a thin eyeshadow primer with these just to make sure it holds well, but other than that the quality is excellent and I’m definitely impressed.

bornprettystoregreen

As you can see I swatched this in different lights so you can see the colour payoff…what was interesting was that in warmer lights (like top right) it actually comes off more silvery than in cooler toned light.

I really love this and a quick swipe of this on the eyelid (and a blend, don’t get me wrong) as you are getting ready will help to make your make up more interesting and make it look like you’ve spent ages on it!

Remember, you can use the code RO1H10 on Born Pretty Store’s…store, to get 10% off!

A Speedy Glittery Smokey Eye Make Up Tutorial!

Hi Everyone!

So I have an exciting new tutorial that I’ve filmed for you, where I have created a glittery, shimmery smokey eye look that is ideal for a glamorous evening or night out. It uses matte eyeshadows to build up intensity around the crease and then a shimmery eyeshadow stick (By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Misty Rock – I’m sure you’ve heard someone talking about it before).

This look does use false eyelashes and I’d definitely recommend these ones that I have used in the video which are by the brand Red Cherry, these are GORGEOUS and they only cost around £3.50!! Bargain – AND you can reuse them! I would say you can reuse them a maximum of three times, which is better than the usual Eyelure strip lashes you get from Boots.
