L’Oréal True Match Anti-Fatigue Concealer

Good lord, it’s been a while since I put finger to keyboard around these parts. Cue 200 spammy spam comments on my blog and I know it’s about time I got back into some posts – I have tonnes of products to review for you and lots of make up looks to talk about!

SO first things first, I have a little surprising product review for you – this is of something I didn’t have massively high hopes for but ended up actually loving!

This L’Oréal True Match concealer (£7.99) was a weird purchase for me – I was putting off repurchasing the Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer which is my all time favourite, but it is quite expensive. I ended up flailing around in Boots like a maniac until I picked up one of these concealers (a TWIST UP PEN for God’s sake) and gave it a new home.

I was surprised that I quite liked this when I started using it. Even the twist up thing doesn’t annoy me too much! Amazing!

The concealer I chose was in the shade ‘Warm Beige’ (a complete and utter guess) and it’s quite pinky toned, but in a nice way. I do find this is good at reflecting light which makes it a good concealer for under the eyes. It’s thicker in consistency than you’d expect from a twist up pen concealer, but that was a pleasant surprise to me!

I think because of the shade of it I’d be better off using a colour corrector under this, as it can come off a little grey/ashy for me when used on it’s own.

I’ve recently started enjoying using a small concoction of concealers to help balance my face out – I use the Urban Decay Naked Skin in Medium Neutral (£19) as the main concealer under my eyes (yessss I caved and bought another), this concealer by L’Oréal around the edges of my undereyes and then the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer in ‘Soft Beige’ (£5.49) to highlight at the outer corners of my eyes. This really helps to wake my face up and make it look alot healthier…like I’ve had a really good sleep!

Have you tried this concealer before? Or any weird twisty up pen ones?!

Feels glad to be back people!

Thanks for your support and reads, those of you who are reading 🙂

Charlotte Tilbury ‘Bette’ Eyes To Mesmerise Eyeshadow

Hello!

I have a review of an outstandingly gorgeous product for you today – the product is from Charlotte Tilbury and it’s a shade that has been really popular. The Eyes to Mesmerise range features some beautiful eyeshadows and I wanted to try one of the cream eyeshadows.

I was browsing online and I settled on the shade ‘Bette’ which is a lovely antique-y gold which applies like a dream and stays put all night!

*I had to make sure I took a picture before I smushed my finger around in here lol*

Zoella Sweet Inspirations Range – She’s Nailed it Again…

If you have an internet connection then I am sure that you have heard the word Zoella before – or even watched one of her videos.

She’s a Youtube made blogging icon and has recently expanded her mini empire to have beauty and bath products, she now has two books and has worked with lots of brands in collaborations!

I was a big fan of her first ever beauty range, which was first launched within Superdrug – this one would be classed as the ‘original’…my favourite product from that range was her cute little fragrance called ‘Blissful Mistful’The fragrances have been amazing each time, with the second one ‘Let’s Spritz’ being pretty good but it didn’t manage to knock the original off my favourites list! It was important to be one of the first beauty bloggers in the digital queue on Feel Unique when the THIRD range came out and I can now show you what I got! **BTW big props to Feel Unique for amazing service – everything came like, shrink wrapped and completely damage free, pretty good considering one was a perfume!

Zoella Sweet Inspirations Range

Zoella Sweet Inspirations Mist

Zoella Body Mist

This mist is really beautiful, the whole of this range is designed to be like a French patisserie in it’s packaging and the smell matches this vibe too. It’s full of almond scents – sweet and soft like a freshly baked cake :).

This kind of scent really makes me smile, 1. because it costs £8 only, and 2. because it’s the kind of long wearing scent you can put on and every now and then in the day you can catch a glorious whiff of it and it reminds you that you actually smell of something nice. Unfortunately it’s pretty much just gone on sale and it’s out of stock lol.
Zoella Sugar Dip Bath Salts

The bath salts were something different that I wanted to try – she’s never done bath salts before, only like fizz bars and stuff. So this was really exciting to me and I knew that this would work really well with the kind of scent she’s picked for this range.

Zoella Bath Salts - Resealable!

You can tell she is actually a normal person when you look at this product – she’s common sensical (yeah, that’s a phrase, pshh) enough to include a little sticker to reseal the pack! These bath salts have a slightly strong macaron scent than the mist as they essentially need to be concentrated…but they are lovely to use, dissolving in a bath within around 5 – 10 minutes and creating a lovely soft scent. These only cost £6 so they would make a perfect birthday gift!

Scented Bath Salts - Zoella

The Double Créme body cream is a lovely play on words and an even lovelier scent. I know this is going to just sound like I’m raving about everything but I actually do love everything I got – the packaging is ON POINT and the scent is just so enjoyable to wear. The body cream is only £5 – bargain!

Have you tried anything from this range or the ranges before? What’s your favourite product?

Thanks for reading guys,

New Launch! Dirty Works – Coconut Body Wash

Hello All!

I have an exciting new launch to share with you – Dirty Works have launched a gorgeous Coconut Body Wash which will make you dream of golden sands and deep blue waters *insert heart eye emoji*. There’s something about coconut scents that scream summer – this launch from Dirty Works would go perfectly hand in hand with the Esteé Lauder Bronze Goddess Limited Edition perfumes and beauty products! You could even layer your scents to make them last longer <3.

Dirty Works Body Wash - Coconut

This body wash contains coconut oil and passionfruit extract to help keep your skin hydrated and smooth, with allantoin to help lock in even more moisture into your skin! In summer if you are getting your armies and leggies out then you know you need to keep your skin hydrated – I officially declare summer a no dry skin zone.

Dirty Works Coconut Body Wash

What I’ve noticed about this body wash is that Dirty Works haven’t just gone and created a sickly sweet body wash and passed the scent off as coconut. The scent that you are left with from this body wash is a PURE coconut scent – fresh, not too sweet but completely refreshing. I really like the consistency of this too – a half arsed lather from a body wash is not pleasing.

Dirty Works Body Wash

I am enjoying using this body wash! It is perfect for using in the morning when you need to kinda clear the cobwebs from your brain. Dirty Works were kind enough to send me a coconut water to celebrate the launch too! This is an absolute bargain and it will last you ages – it only costs £2.50 and you can pick it up in a Sainsburys near you or online :D.

Have you tried anything from the Dirty Works range?

Thanks for reading!

*This item was kindly gifted to me – all opinions and comments are my own…as always

The Perfect Brow Pencil

The first product I’d tried from the Anastasia Beverly Hills make up range was an eyebrow product and from that point, I knew that if I ever needed something for a brow emergency, this was the place to get it.

I had been using my Soap & Glory Brow Archery pencil for a long time, until the gold writing had rubbed off. When I really wanted to get flawless brows I would use my Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade with an angled brush, but recently I have NOT had time for that.

I was roaming around virtually on BeautyBay.com and came across the Anastasia Brow Wiz and thought it was the right time to venture from a pomade to a pencil via the brand that knows all there is to know about the brow business.

anastasia brow wiz

I love that this pencil has a thin nib on one side and then a spoolie on the other – since trying a brow pencil with a spoolie I don’t think I’d ever want to use a pencil that doesn’t have one! They are perfect for using to help trim your brows (I thread mine so this is very handy) but it’s also great for brushing through your brows.

The texture of the Anastasia Brow Wiz is really clever – this pencil is very thin so it helps you be quite precise with the pencil and you can use really easy flicking motions to create your perfect brow. My pencil is in the shade Ebony, which is the shade I am in for the Dip Brow Pomade!

For me, the cleverest bit of this pencil is the formula. It’s a very waxy pencil and by that I mean that if you lightly draw with this you probably won’t end up seeing much on the skin. I think this is a great move, because basically that means that if you go wrong with one swipe it won’t ruin your whole brow. I think the reason this formula is waxy is so that your brows last as long as possible, but I think this has accidentally meant applying the product is much easier too! (A happy accident then)

anastasia brow wiz 2

I’ve loved using this recently – I prefer the formula to the Soap & Glory Brow Archery because it lasts longer and is a bit more forgiving if you end up being a bit heavy handed. Set with some brow gel, you’re good to go!

Have you tried the Anastasia Brow Wiz?

What are your thoughts on the formula?

Nyx Liquid Suede Matte Lipsticks – A Revelation!

Oh myyy goodness – I have been so excited to review these products!

A common theme throughout the past few weeks is that things I have seen popping up on my Instagram feed have been making their way into my shopping basket, be it physical or virtual (and I have paid for them, no pilfering going on around here).

The two shades I picked up in the Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks are beautiful. I bought the shades Soft Spoken and Vintage. Soft Spoken is a beautiful pinky brown and Vintage is a more deep 90’s brown which is AMAZING. Vintage in particular is so on trend that it almost pains me. Expect to see a lot of Instagram pics of these filling up my feed!

I already love both of these liquid lipsticks and everything about them is perfect…

Nyx Liquid Suede Lipsticks

NYX LIQUID SUEDE LIPSTICK SWATCHES SOFT SPOKEN VINTAGE

They are pretty affordable – you can buy these for £6.50 and you get a lot for your money. The formula of the liquid lipsticks is thick and velvety, they apply really nicely because the doe foot applicator is just the right shape to outline and fill in your lips really neatly. *not so fun fact, I thought Doe Foot was actually a specific name for the applicator like Dauphort but then I realised in a D’oh moment*

Soft Spoken Nyx Liquid Suede Lipstick

The staying power of these liquid lipsticks is insane. I wore Soft Spoken ALL day today and although I could feel my lips become a tiny bit drier than usual it wasn’t anywhere near uncomfortable. I drank several teas (lol) and although I saw some product come off onto the mug like a trendy half smile, you couldn’t tell from looking at me that any had moved from my lips.

Vintage Nyx Liquid Suede Lipstick

I think if you are buying one of these I would always opt for the more nude shades where it doesn’t matter if it’s not crisp round the edges. They have bright reds and purples within this range but I’m not sure this formula is the best way to wear those colours.

I’m really happy with these liquid lipsticks and I can’t wait to wear them all the time!

Real Techniques Duo Fibre Make Up Brushes – Review

I’d say about 75% of my make up brush collection is from Real Techniques. You just can’t beat them when it comes to value for money but great performance make up brushes! If people ask me which kinds of brushes they should try if they haven’t had any before, I point them in the direction of the RT face and eye brush sets because these are great starter kits.

When they brought out the Real Techniques Duo Fibre brushes, I didn’t think there would be much of a difference between these and their standard line of brushes. I was wrong though, the duo fibre brushes are beautifully soft and the way that the bristles are different lengths means that the brushes pick up just the right amount of product.

brushes

(the picture above was when I washed all my brushes!! I was so proud lol)

The duo fibre brushes have longer white ended bristles which help with blending and stop you from overloading your brush too much.

The usual Real Techniques brushes are a lot more densely packed (bristles wise) than these ones, so for brighter blushes, darker bronzers etc these are perfect. The duo fibre brushes allow for a bit of heavy handedness because they pick up a smaller amount of product!

duo fibre

In this set there was a blush brush, a contour brush and an eye brush – these as I said are the areas where you would want a bit more of a delicate touch and they are perfect for blending :).

I love the fact that the ends are white as well because it means you know when they are REALLY DIRTY (which mine currently are…)

Have you tried the Real Techniques Duo fibre brushes?

Leave me a comment for any brush suggestions!

Starting out? Make Up Bag Essentials…part 1

I’d say I’ve been looking at make up for long enough to be able to put together a really STRONG make up bag…something that has the vital components to create a nicely made up face…

(BTW it’s also my 26th birthday today…feels weird. Good job there’s a product in here with ‘Anti Age’ in the title).

Think about your everyday make up, for me that consists of foundation, concealer, eyebrows, blush bronzer, mascara and powder. A kit making up these very simple and reasonably priced items is a great way to help someone out who is just starting out with make up, or maybe you want to treat someone you know who has terrible eyebrows and you just want to nudge them in the right direction *giggles*.

Let’s start with base:

FOUNDATION –

So, I use the Esteé Lauder Double Wear Foundation because I was able to find a really close match to my skin. I usually struggle in the lower price bracket ranges, but there are a few that I like from the drug store. The Esteé Lauder foundation starts at around £27, which might seem like a lot but you get LOADS of product and I received a little sample bottle which lasted me longer than you’d think too!

Snip20151102_1

Other more reasonably priced options (that I’ve tried and are also very good) are…

CONCEALER –

My personal favourite concealer is a drugstore version from Maybelline. The Anti Age Eraser Eye is a bloody brilliant concealer. This costs under £10 and lasts for a very long time – it has a little sponge head applicator to make it extra easy, it’s not too high coverage, more medium. This is a really good formula that doesn’t sit in lines once set with a good powder :).

I use the Anti Age Eraser Eye with the Maybelline FIT Me Concealer which is the best highlighting and concealing product to layer over the top of other concealers. It’s great for adding just the right amount of coverage – if I’ve had a particularly heavy night this helps me out lol. I use the shade 20 for highlighting 🙂

MASCARA –

When it comes to mascara, you are SPOILT by the drugstore (or high street stores as we say in Britain). Several of my favourite mascaras you can easily pick up from Boots for around £7-8. My current favourite is the Maybelline Lash Sensational which is brilliant for curling and lengthening – and it has a sturdy brush which means it’s perfect for catching all your lashes in a few sweeps. If you want to see my full detailed review of it then click here!

MaybellineLashSensational

Other great alternatives are:

EYEBROWS –

Rather than point you in the direction of a cheap product, I’d rather point you in the direction of the BEST performance product and let you make your mind up. My favourite product for everyday eyebrows is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade which costs around £15 but it’s so worth the money. Used with an angled brush, you can create defined yet natural brows and I wouldn’t be without it. The only downside is that this product can dry up – but I spray mine with a few pumps of Make Up Setting Spray and that injects a bit more life into it.

Snip20160118_1

I also love the Soap & Glory Brow Archery for the days when speed is the name of the game!

Those are my most vital components that I think should live in your make up bag – if you liked this I may follow this post up with a part 2 containing blush bronzer highlighter and whatever else I can think of that finishes off the basics 🙂

Thank you for reading everyone!

Trendspotting – Ear Climbers from Karma Seven

So, a while ago I was introduced to a body jewellery brand called Karma Se7en.They sell all types of body jewellery but as the only piercings I have are my ears (done in India when I was very little) I love taking a look at their earrings and accessories.

I was blown away by the quality of their products (take a look at my previous post here) and they have started to bring out lots of new designs, including ear climbers and ear cuffs which really caught my eye! Today I’ll be reviewing two of their ear cuffs that I think are perfect for an evening out, a wedding or a party.

karma2

The quality of these products is really second to none, they are made from silver so they are slightly more expensive than any you would get from say New Look or Dorothy Perkins. Being made from silver, I think this helps the earrings/ear cuffs lie right and it means they will last you forever!

Not only that, but they offer buy one get one free on all jewellery as well! Has got me considering getting my nose pierced for reals now…

The first item I am loving is the Crystal Vine Ear Climber Earrings (here) which are really beautiful. They are £20.95, but are very sturdy and fit really snugly into the ear piercing. They are so bright and shiny that they are really striking, especially if you have dark hair like I do. They have a longer thin bar that you can bend out to put the earring on, once the bar is inside your piercing you can push it back to keep it in place. These are so easy to wear and stay in place surprisingly well (trust me if they can last me running up the stairs then that’s pretty damn good).

crystalvineearclimber

The second set of ear climbers I received were the Crystal Diamond Climber Ear Cuffs (here). I think these are my favourite out of the two 🙂 as these are really beautiful. I love the way these frame the ear, at first I was a bit worried about putting them on because of the thin bar (looked a bit scary of first) but they aren’t complicated to wear at all.

If you want to take a look at their new body jewellery (if you are more adventurous than me and want to look at their belly piercings, ear stretchers and nose studs) then click the link here!

I love these earrings, I think they will be great to wear to a wedding as they’ll really stand out.

Have a lovely day everyone! 🙂
