How To Style Tan Leather Boots

Hello Everyone!

I have a really simple but stylish summer look to bring to you…it’s not often that I do fashion posts because I’m more confident with make up but sometimes opportunities (like good weather and a conveniently shedding blossom tree) come along and present themselves and you just have to take advantage.

The spotlight is on these gorgeous Sole Diva tan leather heeled boots from JD Williams, that are available in wide fit and are the softest most amazing quality leather, made in a beautiful *warm yet cool* tan colour.

JD Williams Wide Fit Tan Leather Boots

These are classic boots that will go with so many outfits, but I chose to style them quite casually with a cute t shirt and little dainty jewellery details. These boots are just the right heel height for me, being quite petite. If you want to take a look at the other ankle boots available to buy on the JD Williams site you can click here! The quality of them is amazing, definitely better than your cheaper end high street stores.

These boots are casual enough for day to day but you could easily dress these up a bit by wearing a skirt and tights for more of an evening look. I particularly like the black elastic section which adds another little edge so the boot colour is broken up a bit, I actually think this helps to elongate your legs too!

Some Black Friday Week Beauty Steals…

Hello you lovely people,

If you are browsing the internets then you will be 100% guaranteed to have heard two words. ‘Black’ and ‘Friday’ – the biggest shopping day of the year.

For beauty lovers, it’s great that we don’t get left out (unless you are in Beauty Anonymous where you are nursing your addiction). I don’t think I bought any beauty deals last year but I will most likely be having a browse this year – and I have been browsing a few for you!

I have chosen a few of the best deals I have seen which aren’t necessarily just for Black Friday – today I went to TK Maxx and was amazed to find that they stocked Stila – at prices that are around a SEVENTH of the usual retail price. Amaze.

blackfriday

Here are some of the best deals that I have seen so far:

HOUSE OF FRASER – ORIGINS GIN ZING EYE CREAM – was £20 NOW £16

This eye cream is a steal – I’ve wanted to try this for a very long time, I know it seems like a lot for an eye cream but trust me, this is a good price if you know what you want!

TK MAXX – REAL TECHNIQUES DUO FIBER BRUSH SET – rrp £23.99 NOW £16.00

I’m not entirely sure if this has had a reduction but from comparing this to usual prices on this kind of set, this price stands out as one of the best. I had no idea TK Maxx were so good on beauty brands!

DEBENHAMS – URBAN DECAY 10% OFF – SMOKEY PALETTE, was £38 NOW £34.20

If you are able to get an Urban Decay palette with a discount off the usual price, I would say that you have done yourself proud :). This palette has great versatile shades in it for creating day time AND night time looks and would work great as a gift for somebody.

OTHER THAN SPECIFIC PRODUCTS, THE WEBSITES I PLAN TO BE STALKING…

So, rather than bombard you with savings where for some you aren’t sure whether the RRP is real, I can tell you the websites where I will be looking for genuine deals…

A Christmas Beauty Wishlist – Sephora

Oh my, Sephora. What have you done to my eyes. I have been browsing (as you do) on Sephora and I always tend to look and NEVER BUY. I think I have only ever ordered once from Sephora and I can’t even remember what it was that I bought lol.

This Christmas I have started looking for presents for others – you know, I’m selfless like that (tsch). But along the way, we have all been there when we see products that we think – hmm I would quite like that! So I thought I’d show you my coveted products here 🙂

SEPHORA COVETED LIST – GO!

nars

NARS ‘One Shocking Moment Cheek Palette’ – $69.00

BE STILL MY BEATING HEART – omfg this looks so good. I want this so bad! This would be the most versatile contour, highlight and blush palette AND it would have a massive mirror. What more do you need?

Kat Von D Ink Liner Trio – $25.00

A trio of amazing eye liners, you have a choice of brown, purple AND black! I’m just linking to this as ALL images I searched for are rubbish.

Deborah Lippman ‘Roses In The Snow Duo’ – $15.00

This nail polish set looks so lovely. The blushed rose colour looks like it would be very flattering and the glitter looks insane!

deblip

IN THE SALE!! Colourful Sequin Glitter – Sephora – $5

sephora

For a sale item, this looks great for the festive season and if you were to pack this onto the eyelid then it would be a perfect dramatic eyeshadow to turn heads (and eyes). 🙂

I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at the things I’ve loved drooling over at Sephora!

Have a lovely weekend everyone 🙂

The Brightest Blush That Ever Did Live

I have a product to review for you today that is very versatile – some people will look at this and think it screams summer and playful days, some people will think this will give you a winter pinched flush. I happen to sit on the latter side of the fence. The product I am reviewing for you today is the MimiDidi Mineral Blush in the number 11.

Mimididi

I don’t blame you if you take one look at this blush and want to run away from it, holding your hands up to your face in fear. This is one of those products where a light hand isn’t just desired – it’s needed. Saying that though, I really love this blush as it is perfect for making it look like you’ve just been out for a brisk winter walk (wrapped up in a warm coat and a fluffy scarf).

I would recommend using a very soft, sparse blusher brush for this. Also, making sure once you have lightly dabbed your brush into it I would tap the excess off. This will make sure you can start off with less on your brush and slowly build up the colour if you want to.

What I especially like about this is that it is affordable and completely MATTE. Too many blushes nowadays are packed with shimmer and I think it can be too much sometimes. Especially if you want to use a highlighter across your cheekbones!

blush

One other thing that will stop you looking like a clown is to use a white or cream bristle blusher brush – if you use one with black bristles it means you might not know how much product is on your brush in the first place.

I really like the packaging of this product too – don’t get me wrong, it is plastic but it is sturdy enough to travel and the chunky compact is quite nice to hold. Also – this would make a great Christmas present!

I have a 10% off code for anyone who is interested in browsing Born Pretty Store who kindly gifted me this product – the code is

Happy Shopping everyone!

The Mother of All Purse Upgrades

HELLO!

So I have a very exciting post for you today. Anyone who has seen me pay for shiz knows that my purse is battered. It’s from Primarni (my sister got it for me for Christmas in circa 1897). I knew I needed a new purse but hadn’t seen anything that I liked at all.

Then I went on Twitter. Then Kate Spade tweeted and said there was a sale. There was a further 30% off the sale items.

I went on the site and thought everything is pretty but I can’t afford you!! A little black patent number caught my eye (this sounds like some horrid, seedy date) and I looked at the price (date has taken a sinister turn) and was sold!

This is the beauty that I bought:

KATESPADE

This is such a pretty wallet, it it shiny and has gorgeous gold detailing. It has an outer zip for change, and it has a popper which reveals the centre. It has MORE than enough compartments for my gazillion loyalty cards, and then two sides for notes.

When I opened the wallet I was pleased to see it had lovely polkadot lining! (Lining pleases me).

Here are a few close ups!

katespade2

I am in love with this purse and feel so fancy (!) when I whip this out when I’m paying for my packet of Skips and a scratch card at the shop.

I love Kate Spade and have a phone case (iPhone 5) from the designer brand and I just love the simple designs and chic finishes and details.

Oh, by the way, if you want to see my shamed purse that I had before this one…here you go:

Have you seen any amazing purses or bags that you can link me? I promise to drool profusely over them :D.

6 Very Real Life Struggles I Have Encountered

We all know that there are a few struggles we all have to deal with on a daily basis, and this post just rounds up some of the ABSOLUTE ORDEALS I have had to go through over the past few months.

ORDEAL #1 – CLOTHES SIZES IN DIFFERENT SHOPS –

I love a bit of online shopping, but what I hate is that the problem of inconsistent sizing between physical high street stores is somewhat amplified when you are shopping online. Cue me choosing a size 8 dress that would probably fit on my arm, rather than my whole body. In my brain I am thinking, ‘Hang on a second, in DOROTHY PERKINS I can fit into a size 8.’ Welllll that’s because in Dorothy’s Fashion Empire their size 8’s are already like tents. I’m sure all ladies of different sizes can relate to this inconsistency. Sort it out, you shops you.

River Island?! Pah! More like...Wrong Size...Island.
River Island?! Pah! More like…Wrong Size…Island.

ORDEAL #2 – BEAUTY BRANDS DISCONTINUING YOUR FAVOURITE PRODUCT –

Although beauty brands are amazing and innovative, they are also fickle players. The reason I say this, is that you could buy an item, absolutely LOVE it, and after a few months go to repurchase and they have discontinued the foofing thing.

I encountered this loss when I went to my local Boots to repurchase a 17 nail polish in the most beautiful sea weed green glitter. To my dismay, I saw a crap aqua glitter replacement that had none of the beauty of it’s predecessor. Take a look at my lost love below:

Ahh, I miss you.
Ahh, I miss you.

ORDEAL #3 – WHEN THAT INGENIOUS IDEA OF YOURS DOESN’T WORK –

So, you guys might not know this but I am an avid baker. I usually find a few staple recipes and stick to those, venturing out to sometimes change a recipe slightly to see if I can find the next better version of it.

Cue Coffee & Walnut…& Nutella fairy cakes. Well, I couldn’t just do the recipe, could I?!

I decided it would be a good idea to add a splodge of Nutella into each fairy cake, thinking it would melt and become a gooey paradise of chocolate goo.

Instead, it did hardened and sank to the bottom like dis:

Oh Nutella, you cruel mistress of confectionery.
Oh Nutella, you cruel mistress of confectionery.

ORDEAL # 4 – FINDING OUT THE FOOD YOU ALWAYS THOUGHT YOU WOULD LIKE DISGUSTS YOU –

A nice day shopping out in Birmingham. Oh, let’s stop for breakfast shall we?! OKAI.

Oh, let’s try Eggs Benedict, I would love Hollandaise sauce.

No Roshni. No you would not.

The sauce is deceptive, in reality it is not savoury and delicious, it is a tangy hell hole of deceit.

Holland-oh my days.
Hollan-oh my days.

ORDEAL #5 – WHEN YOU SEE A MASSIVE DOG AND WANT TO RIDE IT –

There isn’t really much explanation needed here.

You see a massive dog. Want to ride it. Realise you can’t. Cry.

There were other people taking pictures of it too! Not just me!
There were other people taking pictures of it too! Not just me!

ORDEAL #6 – WHEN YOU MEET ELSA FROM FROZEN IN REAL LIFE AND REALISE SHE’S SHITE –

So in ‘Frozen’, Elsa’s ‘Let It Go’ dress is FABULAMAZING.

When I met Elsa and Olaf in Chester town, her dress was, well, an atrocity.

Remember that odd sequin material you would get at primary school that you could use to stick onto drawings of mermaids?

Well basically she had a sheath of that pinned to a white long sleeved T shirt.

See for yourself!

Poor show Elsa, poor show.
Poor show Elsa, poor show.

What real life struggles have you ‘Pressers been encountering recently?!
