Jewellery Haul – Gold & Pastels

Posting on a Wednesday night?! What is this! You lucky lot…

I have some pictures for you to drool over today. NO, noooo not Ryan Gosling (not my personal cup of tea, I’m more of a Chris Hemsworth kinda woman)…but BEAUTIFUL JEWELS JEWELS.

In preparation for a friend’s wedding, I had my dress, my shoes, blah blah. The thing I didn’t have was any nice/suitable jewellery. Cue me fretting in Accessorise trying to find some jewellery that would look like it was bought this year.

My dress was from Lipsy; it was a red/orange floral print strappy dress with a rigid net skirt using the same print (it felt wonderfully swishy). The jewellery I picked to go with it was quite simple – a statement necklace, some band bracelets and a set of gorgeous rings!

necklace

This necklace is lovely! It sits quite high on the neck as it isn’t a long chain, but it is a statement necklace that is quite pretty and dainty at the same time. Though I’m praying none of these stones fall out…

I also grabbed a set of rings – don’t worry, I paid for them – which were a mix of straight gold bands and twisted, with really pretty pastel coloured gems. I stacked a few of these on top of each other for a laid back/boho look.

bracelet

Lastly, I picked up these beautiful band bracelets. These are slightly bendy so all you have to do is bend it slightly and you can get them on your wrist. The jewelled ends either side are so pretty, and although I bought them for the wedding I have already been getting lots of wear out of them.

What are your favourite shops for buying jewellery from?

By the way this post isn’t sponsored I just love Accessorise :p

My Obsession with Dainty Jewellery

Hello Everyone!

I have an obsession with dainty jewellery, particularly necklaces and earrings. I think there’s something so beautiful about a slim, delicate chain with a small, simple pendant. On asian skin as well, bright golds and silvers look really pretty!

The shops that I think are best for dainty, delicate jewellery are probably the usual suspects: Accessorize, H & M, and Topshop! I think gold is my favourite style, with silver and copper coming a close second. I have a picked a selection of my MOST favourite pieces for you to peruse below:

handm

This necklace is my most recent purchase, from H & M (I think it was around £4.99). This is quite a pale coppery colour, and it has a really thin chain and a simple horse shoe and circle design. The only thing I get annoyed about is untangling it!

turkeynecklace

This is one of my favourites 🙂 this necklace I bought when I went to Turkey with my sister. The shop was quite big, but it was run by a very old man with a white beard and shuffly sandals on. This is a REALLY thin gold ball style chain, with a bright blue and silver round pendant. The chain is so delicate that I have to be quite careful with it as I’m always scared it’ll snap!

topshop

I’m so pleased with how this photo turned out! This necklace is a beautiful chain with triangular amethyst stones. I like how there are 5 (an odd number always looks very satisfying) and the chain again is very dainty and thin. I love the bright purple of the stones against the coppery/gold chain.

accessorizez

This last necklace is from Accessorise, part of their ‘Z’ collection. The jewellery from the ‘Z’ range is a bit more expensive, but the pieces are usually so beautiful and dainty that I think it’s definitely worth it. The stones on this necklace are like a light aqua blue, so set against the bright almost yellowy gold it’s really striking. Something about it makes me think of Greece, they carry that style through to the packaging and font in the range design so I love that all the pieces are designed within the same style.

What is your favourite from the bunch? Or are you the opposite and loving in your face blingy necklaces and earrings?!

Thanks for reading,

Roshni 🙂 xxx

Gems from the Post Christmas Sales…

Hello!

I thought I’d show you a few of my favourite things that I bought in the post Christmas sales. I know we are well into the joyful throes of January now, but it’s never too late to show off your shopping (in my opinion).

I think I was pretty good this year and I didn’t go mad. Not like Christmas time when my Dad was getting increasingly annoyed with the number of deliveries arriving at our house…oops.

The first place I went to was Matalan, where sometimes I go and find nothing, other times I go and just want to buy EVERYTHING. This time I was more sensible, and picked up a few essentials (ehem).

The first thing was this beautiful statement necklace, which has pale pink and dark purple gems/bits of plastic in. It was half price from £10 to £5, bargain!

Although it looks wuite orangey in this light, the gems are dark purple!

I think this would look great with a black high neck top, to really add some colour to an outfit.

The second thing I got from Matalan was a gorgeous grey wool scarf. Not the massive knitted type, but more of a softer, kind of blanket like scarf. It is so so soft, and I instantly feel warm when I put it on! It was £7, down from £12.

Don't you just want to crawl in there and curl up like a cat...

The third, and probably my most favourite thing that I bought was from The Calendar Club and it was an Edward Monkton Diary for 2015 (it had 40% off as 2015 had already started, making it only £5.49!

The animations and little sayings in it really make me smile, and it always makes me think of my dear friend Geri who first showed me Edward Monkton.

TOAST. REVENGE. 'Nuff said.

Mini Haul #1!

On the last day of Summer, what could be better than to browse a mini haul and draw a close to the gorgeous summer we have had this year. I’m quite looking forward to Autumn, being able to wrap up in a winter coat, stepping on some crunchy-ass leaves, and enjoying the run up to Christmas!

Below are a few things I have bought recently:

Starting with something different, the amethyst coloured necklace was from Topshop, and I bought this when I was in London staying with my sister . I love the way the gold chain and lilac stones look together. I quite like that the chain is very thin, and the simple 5 stone design is modern and will go with many outfits. I’ve had a look online and I can’t find a link to it 🙁 but I think it was around £17, and it was bought from the Oxford Circus Topshop. The little gold links between the stones aren’t particularly sturdy, but sometimes to tighten them I’ll grab a pair of tweezers and gently squeeze the rings tighter to make sure they don’t stretch.

The eyeshadow is a L’oréal Color Riche in ‘Cafe St Germain’, available here (shade 201). This is a perfect everyday shade, and from the look of it I think it would go on really well with a slightly damp brush too. The texture is really silky and velvety, and this shimmery taupe is a great alternative to a neutral cream eyeshadow.

Now, we move onto the most expensive of the bunch (Benefit, ‘They’re Real’ Mascara £17.55 at Boots). I remember trying this out in a Boots store last year, and a Benefit sales assistant tried this on me. It is really great for lengthening and separating, but man is this hard to remove. I use the Simple Eye Make Up Remover, which is great at removing my usual mascaras such as the Maybelline The Falsies etc. ‘They’re Real’ is not completely unshift-able, but it does require a bit more rubbing and remover than your usual formula mascaras. The brush is really good – a sturdy plastic brush, with a weird spiky ball on the end which is ideal for the outer corner lashes. All in all, although this is good for lengthening, it does not beat my ultimate higher end favourite which is the Benefit ‘Bad Gal Lash’, with it’s mighty fat brush!

And finally, I watched Tanya Burr’s latest baking video where she made the most SCRUMPTIOUS white and milk chocolate cookies ever…and she was wearing a gorgeous dark purple nail varnish from her own range. It’s called ‘Midnight Sparkles’ and I picked it up from Feel Unique for £3.59. This is a really lovely colour, not the thickest formula but it is still quite easy to build up a strong dark colour. The purple shimmer in it is really subtle, and it’s the perfect shade for Autumn/Winter. Here is a little snap shot (yes it’s instagrammed which is why I look orange):
