Kiko Cream Crush Eyeshadow – 05 Pearly Silver Rose

Hi Everyone!

Today I have a review for you, for something that became a saving grace. I bought this little Kiko Cream Eyeshadow during my last stint in London, it was discounted and the colour just screamed out to me!

I had always wanted to try some of the Kiko cosmetics range, having tried some of their nail polishes before. This little pot of cream eyeshadow is ’05 Pearly Silver Rose’, which is a beautiful irridescent silver/gold.

kiko cream eyeshadow pearly silver rose

This is a long lasting cream eyeshadow which is meant to be super blendable, (auto correct wants this to say bendable lol) with up to 10 hours staying power.

The texture of this shadow really is silky soft – it feels velvety in the pot but when you start to apply it to the lid (without primer, may I add) it starts to set to a powder. I think if you plan to blend this I would get that blending brush at the ready pretty sharpish as you have a small window of opportunity before this sets!

kiko cream eyeshadow

The colour pay off is brilliant, you can see how sheeny and pigmented the shadow is and it only cost £3.40!

I am amazed by the quality of this cream eyeshadow and I can say it did actually stay put all night! I used this with a matte black shadow in the crease and then I patted this over the inner third of my eyelid.

The only thing I’m not keen on (and ALL beauty brands are guilty of this) is that when you get these little pots of shadows they have a blown up bottom (as in the glass makes it look like you’re getting more product than you are). In actual fact, you’re getting a whopping SIX ML

Wow, generous!

Lol 🙂

Have you tried any Kiko cosmetics?

Thanks for reading guys 🙂

Why I’m Obsessed with Instagram…

If anyone follows me on Instagram, they’ll know that I quite like it. I post a lot and I usually go on it around 2 – 3 times a day. Go through my feed and double tap on anything that takes my fancy, it’s such an EASY way to explore photography and it fits right into our convenient, time limited day to day lifestyles.

It gives you the opportunity to experiment with photography and you don’t even need a big fancy camera in order to do it – I find my iPhone 6s camera is just right.

IMG_7606

One of my favourite things about Instagram is when you come across a great account that shows sped up make up tutorials. Make up feeds are my favourite kind to browse through and I’ve tried my hand at some close up pictures too but am still practising! For those I tend to ignore my front camera and use a mirror so that I can use my back camera instead which is much much better quality.

I like following large brands Instagram accounts because it’s a great way of finding out what their newest products and sale offers are – some of my favourites are Essie, Bombay Hair, Nars, Benefit and Make Up Geek (which I’ve just heard that you can get on Beauty Bay!).

Have you guys got any favourite Instagram accounts you can recommend following? 🙂

A Christmas Beauty Wishlist – Sephora

Oh my, Sephora. What have you done to my eyes. I have been browsing (as you do) on Sephora and I always tend to look and NEVER BUY. I think I have only ever ordered once from Sephora and I can’t even remember what it was that I bought lol.

This Christmas I have started looking for presents for others – you know, I’m selfless like that (tsch). But along the way, we have all been there when we see products that we think – hmm I would quite like that! So I thought I’d show you my coveted products here 🙂

SEPHORA COVETED LIST – GO!

nars

NARS ‘One Shocking Moment Cheek Palette’ – $69.00

BE STILL MY BEATING HEART – omfg this looks so good. I want this so bad! This would be the most versatile contour, highlight and blush palette AND it would have a massive mirror. What more do you need?

Kat Von D Ink Liner Trio – $25.00

A trio of amazing eye liners, you have a choice of brown, purple AND black! I’m just linking to this as ALL images I searched for are rubbish.

Deborah Lippman ‘Roses In The Snow Duo’ – $15.00

This nail polish set looks so lovely. The blushed rose colour looks like it would be very flattering and the glitter looks insane!

IN THE SALE!! Colourful Sequin Glitter – Sephora – $5

sephora

For a sale item, this looks great for the festive season and if you were to pack this onto the eyelid then it would be a perfect dramatic eyeshadow to turn heads (and eyes). 🙂

I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at the things I’ve loved drooling over at Sephora!

Have a lovely weekend everyone 🙂

My Newest Obsession – Nyx Lip Cremes

Hey Everyone!

I have been wanting to try these for SUCH a long time and now I finally have them I am totally fan girling about them! So, the products I’ve been wanting to try for about a billion years are the Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams. Lip CREAMS sound a bit weird don’t they, but if you are truly a beauty fan you will already know what these are.

I’ve heard so many bloggers and Youtubers raving about these and I can see why. Unfortunately, I now want the entire range but I was good and settled for two shades. I ordered them from Boots on Click and Collect last Saturday afternoon and picked them up from my local Boots on Sunday after midday (this is not a sponsored post I was just really impressed!).

nyx lip creme

The two shades I bought were ‘Transylvania’ (the dark one) and ‘Antwerp’. The one I think I was most excited about was Transylvania, because it is a VERY dark, almost black purple. It’s quite goth-y but I love it. I was so excited about it I filmed a Youtube tutorial with it a few hours after swatching it (if you’d like to see that then click the link below!)

Here is a swatch of ‘Transylvania’ on my hand!

nyx transylvania

The formula of these is great, it is VERY opaque, creamy and velvety – but it gives you just enough time to clean up around your lip line with a cotton bud to clean up any mishaps!

I love how dramatic this shade is and I hope to use this some more in the Winter!

The second shade I bought was ‘Antwerp’ which is a very bright coral-ly pink colour.

Here it is swatched on my hand! Really close too:

nyx antwerp

I haven’t actually put this on yet but I’m hoping it suits me! This is quite a bright pink so I’m thinking this should look nice really with a thin layer AND  thicker layer applied.

I’m so impressed with the formula of these and I can’t wait to use them more day to day.

Have you tried any of these? What shades am I missing out on? :’)

MAC + Lorac Pro Palette Make Up Look

Hello Everyone!

Today I have a FOTD (shh the F stands for ‘Face’) for you with a little run down of what I used in order to create this eyeshadow look below. This mainly uses a MAC make up palette that was probably limited edition (sorry) and the Lorac Pro Palette which I’ve been loving for the past month or so.

Keep reading if you want to see what I used to get this look! It’s the first one I’ve done of it’s kind and I’m actually really pleased 🙂 (don’t rain on my parade!) 😀

macmakeup3

Here are the products that I used!

macmakeup1
Left Hand side is all Eye products, Right Hand side is for Eyebrows!

The shades I used from the Lorac Pro Palette, were Taupe, Cream, Nude and Sable.

The shades I used in the MAC mini palette were Brun, Enviable (discontinued I think) and Smut. The textures of the MAC and Lorac Pro Palette are great for blending, which is the key to getting this to have a smokey feel, with a pop of green in the centre (provided by Enviable).

I used Painterly MAC Paint Pot to block out the eyelid with a neutral base, then I blended Taupe as a transition colour. I built up Sable in the crease with some Brun from the MAC palette.

I took Cream as a brow highlight and used Nude as an inner corner colour applied to the first third of the eyelid. Then I packed on Enviable into the centre of the lid. This really needs to be packed on to get the most colour pay off. I blended the crease out and applied liquid liner and mascara to finish!

Lips I kept quite simple and went for a nude, using a nude lip liner to slightly overline the lips and a cool toned silvery taupe gloss dotted in the centre to make lips appear fuller.

What do you think to this look?

Sunday Review – MAC Painterly Paint Pot

Happy Sunday All!

Today I have a mini review for you, of something that I’ve wanted to purchase for quite a while. MAC Paint Pots are infamous for their long lasting colour and the way that certain shades can be used to blank out the eye lid which makes them ideal for an eyeshadow base.

Instead of trying fancy primers and bases I researched the shade of paint pot that I wanted and decided on Painterly. This seemed like a good neutral shade, which would make sure that any eyeshadows I use wouldn’t crease. One of the great things about using a paint pot, is that it makes the colour of any eyeshadow you use pop more because you are using a lighter base colour. I bought mine from Debenhams online because I already had a £5 loyalty bonus saved up and there was already 10% off MAC (lucky me!).

macpainterly

I was really pleased with the shade of this when I opened it up, buying things (particularly make up when you are trying to pick a colour) can be tricky online. This nude is a creamy, flesh pink colour and is perfect to use as an eyeshadow base. It actually looks quite pretty just patted over the lid on it’s own, with a touch of brown eyeshadow added into the crease.

macpainterly2

macpainterly3

As you can see from the swatch above, it’s pretty similar to my skin tone. I’m enjoying using this to make winged eyeliner look more precise, and it’s good at brightening up the eye area for a really simple daytime look. I’m thinking I might do a tutorial with this, if you want me to do one please comment below or let me know! 😀

Thanks for reading and have a WICKED Bank Holiday weekend!

The Oldest Products In My Make Up Stash

OK so, I’mma put this out there, this may be a bit gross. I don’t really use one of these products anymore, I think I’ve kept it more for sentimental reasons as I bought it a hella long time ago.

I think every girl who loves make up has an item that makes her feel nostalgic about a certain experience or time of her life.

The oldest products I have in my make up bag are the Too Faced Baked Eyeshadow in ‘Deep Space’ and my first ever MAC lipstick in ‘Hug Me’.

oldestmakeup

When I bought this Too Faced eyeshadow I think I was about 16 or 17 years old (I’m 25 now, LOL) and I went to Sephora on the Champs Elysees in Paris on a school trip. It was my first time in a Sephora and I remember being mesmerised by the shiny walls and floors and wide displays of all types of make up!

This product is still really pretty to look at but I highly doubt I’m going to be dipping my brush (sounds like a euphemism) into this little pot anytime soon. I remember putting this on for a night out and everyone really liking it and I was so pleased as I had no idea what I was doing with it. I can’t bear to throw it away!

The first MAC lipstick I ever bought for myself was the shade ‘Hug Me’. It’s a Lustre lipstick so it’s not matte, it’s a bit glossy but not too much. It’s a great nude for asian skin and I picked it myself. I again, had very little idea of what I was doing but I managed to pick a decent shade.

I hardly ever hear people talking about this shade and it’s definitely not limited edition. I guess there are other nudes out there that people rave about but this is my favourite (aside from No 17’s Beehive).

What are the oldest make up items in your stash? That is if you are brave enough to say!

Thanks for reading,
