Hi Guys,

So on my Youtube channel not long ago I filmed a review/before and after using the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara and I thought to myself, ‘Why not do the same for what used to be my most favourite ever?!?’

A while ago I used to LOVE the Maybelline Lash Sensational and recently I bought it again.

However THIS time, I noticed a few changes in the formula and wanted to share it with you…here is a sneak peek below of the before and after!

My Favourite Way of Storing False Lashes…

So if you’re like me, then you stock pile lashes for those occasions when you need them. The odd night out, a party or wedding/special event – but they need to be easily accessible and for me one of the most important things is that they don’t take up alot of room.

Some beauty bloggers I know of have come up with quite fancy ways of storing lashes – Kaushal who has her own very successful Youtube channel takes them completely out of their packaging and keeps them curled up in little compartments in a plastic box.

I prefer to have them still stuck to the plastic packaging as this REALLY helps keep the shape, I find.

How to Store False Lashes

The picture above shows all my lashes in my stashes (lol) before I tried to store them!

My favourite lashes are the Red Cherry Wispy lashes – I get mine from Amazon and they are amazing. You can reuse them around 3 times depending on how much glue you use and they have minimal packaging which is another reason I love them.

I quite like keeping the white part of the packaging and then just disposing of the cardboard around it AND the glue that comes with them. The reason I say that is that I love to use the DUO lash adhesive, it comes in a standard version but being a brunette it also comes in Dark Brown!! Which is genius.

How to Store Your False Lashes

So you can see that taking away the cardboard packaging and just keeping the white sections makes them much easier to store – I’m just using a plastic sturdy tub that some of my indian jewellery came in! It’s perfect and compact, and if you buy multi packs like the Ardell Demi Wispie lashes you see above with FOUR PAIRS then that makes it even easier. By the way ALL of the lashes in the picture above are now in that box!

I hope you liked this post! Simple yet effective, lol

Benefit’s Roller Lash Mascara – Review

Hi Everyone!

I hope you’ve had a great weekend before real life starts again…(aka work)! One of my Christmas presents was a dinky little sample of the Benefit Roller Lash mascara, which I’m reviewing for you today (my sister Anisha bought it for me, she wanted to be included in the post and she’s making me a cup of tea so I think that’s a good deal).

My mascara relationships have been pretty stable throughout most of my make up life and I can almost reel off the mascaras like an exes list. Firstly, in my teen years my go to was Benefit’s Bad Gal Lash, then I went to the Maybelline Great Lash Mascara, then the Max Factor False Lash Effect. As I moved into my twenties I went onto the Soap & Glory Thick & Fast (which is way better than you’d expect) and since then I’ve always loved the Maybelline Lash Sensationalyou can read my review of that here!

The Benefit Roller Lash claims to ‘curl and lengthen’ using it’s Hook ‘n’ Roll brush…this brush is thin and long and looks pretty ordinary. I was surprised by how much it does actually lengthen. If you are looking for volume then I don’t think this is the mascara for you – I am lucky and have quite thickish lashes anyway so this isn’t a problem for me!

Benefit Roller Lash

Compared to the Lash Sensational, the brush is much thinner and I’m not entirely sure where the Hook and Roll aspects of it are!

As you can see from the before and after picture above, this mascara is great for lengthening and it’s very pigmented :). It actually performs very well on lower lashes as well, adding fibres and coating them thinly so that it’s not clumpy.

I think I would buy a full size version of this when my current mascara runs out (though I have a habit of having more than one on the go, oops). I’m not a massive fan of the packaging, though this is only the mini. The pastel pink doesn’t stand out much on the black background but I guess the test is of the product itself!

Have you guys tried the Roller Lash mascara? What did you think?

Thanks for reading guys 🙂

How to Apply False Eyelashes – Success Guaranteed!

When I’ve done people’s make up or helped with it, this is the thing that everybody mentions – false eyelashes. Those wispy bands of small hairs have been known to stump the most accomplished beauty mavens!

Really, the key with false eyelashes is practice, but I do have some inside tips to make your life a lot easier!

false lashes

The things you will need for successful eyelash application are:

  • Eyelashes (duh)
  • Tweezers
  • Eyelash Glue (the one that comes in the pack is fine)

CHOICES, CHOICES –

Put simply, if you are looking for a very natural lash then try the ones with sparser set lashes. For me, when I want something between natural and dressy I love using the Red Cherry Wispy Lashes (these are my ultimate favourites).

If you are definitely after a strip lash that LOOKS like one, get lashes where the eyelashes are mostly the same length – wispy ones tend to have varied lengths within them!

BAND WIDTH –

Once you have selected your favourite lashes, a good way to check they are right for you is to simply place them along your lash line without any glue. I tend to nudge my lashes down a bit so that I can get the lashes on top of them. This will help you see if the lashes need cutting (they may be too wide for your eyes). If this is the case, then trim a few millimetres off the OUTSIDE of the lashes. Never do it from the inside or you’ll ruin the look!

LASH GRABBIN’ –

When you are ready (and have limbered up) to apply your lashes, gently peel the lash off the holder or case – try not to yank or pull too hard as you want to keep the shape of the lash band.

MIDDLE IS BEST –

Grip the eyelash band in the middle of the lash band, close to the band itself so that you have a sturdy hold of it.

TIME TO GET GLUING –

That just looks like ‘GLUNG’ to me, lol. There is nothing wrong with the eyelash glue that comes in the packet, with your eyelashes. But I find that if you are a bit messy, using a dark eyelash glue is a great idea. Duo do a dark brown version which is the one that I use – so if you have applied eyeliner beforehand then you won’t get a big white splodge on your eyeshadow.

Apply a thin line of eyelash glue and gently blow on the lash or wave it – this will help the glue to go a bit tacky.

THIS IS THE KEY…if you take anything away from this post it’s that you should wait until the glue has gone a bit tacky before you apply the lashes. This will help it adhere – if you try when you have just applied the glue it will slide all over the place.

GENTLY DOES IT –

When the glue is tacky, gently lower the lash onto your lash line – letting it fall in the middle first of all. Once the lash is rested on the centre of your lash line, use the tweezers to pull the lash to your lash line in the inner corner, then the outer corner. I have found this is the most fool proof way to apply.

When this is stuck, you can gently pinch (can you gently pinch?!) the eyelashes against your own, which will help them stay for longer.

ET voila!!

Let me know if you have any tips yourselves 🙂

Want longer eyelashes? My Review of Flash Eyelash Serum…

Hello Everyone 🙂

A while ago (around 2-3 months) I was kindly sent the Flash Eyelash Growth Serum by their PR team and I was very intrigued! I am blessed with quite long eyelashes anyway but I thought if it can improve the thickness and volume then that’s amazing. They recommended trying this for 8 weeks and then reporting back on the success.

flasheyelash

This serum is a clear, gel like consistency that you run along your upper lash line – which dries and works it’s magic (so’s the claim). It is recommended to use this in the morning and night…but I have to say I was a very bad blogger and used it sporadically throughout these 8 weeks.

Here are my lashes as they are normally:

eyelash

Firstly, I’ll tell you a bit about my results. I don’t personally think I’ve used this religiously enough to give it a fair trial, but I hope to use this consistently no matter what for at least 2 weeks to see if I can notice any change. At first, when I had started to use it consistently for ONE WHOLE WEEK – I felt like my lashes were thicker and they looked really long when I curled them with my eyelash curlers (Shu Uemera). But it was after this that my routine went downhill :(…

The reason I stopped using it so quickly is because:

  • I kept forgetting 🙁
  • I did not like the wet feeling on my eyelids
  • The point above, times two

This was a major turn off for me – if it dried quicker and without a sheen I would have made much more of an effort to keep going with it! I’d have put an after picture up but seriously there is no change :(.

They actually have a 90 day money back guarantee so to be honest, you could try this and if it didn’t work for you you wouldn’t be any worse off…but so far I haven’t seen enough results to make it a permanent fixture on my dressing table!

Have you tried any lash growth serums?
