So, I go in phases of really liking doing my nails and then hating them. Not too long ago I had some gel polish done (french) which was great – up until you could see they were growing out…then I hated them with a passion.
The relief I felt when I had soaked them off was UNREAL. Seriously lol. This has since reinspired my love of nail polish – from years of biting my nails when I was younger (I stopped halfway through my uni exams – did not make any sense but I am glad it happened!) I am now glad to have long, healthy nails.
Most recently, especially in the run up to Christmas, I love using glitter polishes. The only thing I hate is taking them off! Here I’ve used a No7 Nail Effect Gold Glitter polish – sorry I don’t think they do this anymore!
I’ve done quite a simple nail look with Essie’s Lilacism which is a beautiful cool toned lilac, with a heavy gold glitter accent nail.
I love this look as it’s perfect for christmas – yes it uses pastel colours but I think the lilac goes really well with the gold glitter, it looks very luxe and has a touch of sparkle!
I shouldn’t really buy any nail polishes ever again, look at how many I have *hides behind eyes*
What are your favourite Christmassy nail looks?

Today I have a new tutorial for you to watch with your beautiful eyes! It’s a look centred around the new eyeshadow trio I got from Born Pretty Store last week.
The trio contains the most gorgeous dark brown/gold glittery shade and I just knew I had to use it in a tutorial at some point. Turns out I couldn’t wait any longer!
To see my review of the palette, you can click here!
This look features a glittery smokey eye, winged liner and false eyelashes, but a nude slightly overlined lip. I kept the rest of the face very simple as the eyes and lashes are the main focus.
I hope you enjoy reading and watching my tutorials and posts, feel free to leave me a comment if you did!
ALSO – my Blog Lovin’ news update is that I have hit 350 followers!
My next aim is for 400 but seriously I’m amazed new bloggers are still following…is only me writing about what I like about make up! Lol :). Click the image below if you’ve stumbled upon my blog and fancy giving it a follow!

I’m gonna start this post with a picture :). A glorious, glittery and glamorous picture.
See article A:
This gorgeous eyeshadow palette was kindly sent to me by Born Pretty Store. I was gifted a few products, here you can read my first review of an amazingly thin liquid eyeliner :).
This Shimmer Eyeshadow Trio is only $4.22, so it’s great value for money. I said in my previous post, please don’t be concerned that the prices are in dollars…I found that the shipping was quick and the quality was great.
I have always loved the idea of an antique gold-y eyeshadow and I have now finally got one! The first thing I noticed about this palette was just HOW glittery they are. They were really pigmented when I watched them, but the only thing I wasn’t as keen on was that they do contain quite coarse glitter.
The white shade is most probably my least favourite colour…the bronze gold and the ‘antique’ gold are gorgeous! I would definitely recommend using an eyeshadow primer with these simply because creating a light base will help these colours pop.
I don’t think I’ll use the sponge applicator that came with it, I’d much rather use my eyeshadow brushes but you could probably do a decent job even with the little double ended sponge. If you fancy trying some products from Born Pretty Store then you’ll be pleased to hear they offer FREE worldwide shipping AND I have an exclusive 10% off discount code!
Scroll up and take a look in my side bar —> If you click that banner you’ll be taken directly to the store…don’t forget to type in the below discount code for 10% off!

After you lovely ‘Pressers seemed to like my last ‘Understated Christmas Manicure‘ post, I thought I would do a few more of these so you can see how I have my nails week on week. I used to actually bite my nails, so being able to experiment knowing it will look half decent means that I now ALWAYS like to have presentable nails.
The look I went for this week used Nails Inc ‘Regent Street’, which is a gorgeous deep burgundy colour which is perfect for Autumn/Winter. To make this slightly more christmassy I added a gold glitter over the top of the ring finger nail, as an accent. This lifts a glossy prim and proper manicure and adds a touch of fun.
Recently I have been loving keeping my nails quite short (nobody wants sharp talons when they are tapping away at a keyboard at work), and keeping them quite squoval (square oval) as this is the most flattering shape for me.
The gold glitter polish I used was a No7 one, but I have to say I’m not a massive fan as it feels quite gritty and the glitter particles are quite big. It’s not a polish you can layer up, as it comes out quite thick from the minute the brush touches the nail.
As always, a layer of Seche Vite means that I know for sure I will last for at least 1 week before I find any chips or scuffs…perfect so that I can get on with Christmas shopping, baking and lazing around!
