Kiko Cream Crush Eyeshadow – 05 Pearly Silver Rose

Hi Everyone!

Today I have a review for you, for something that became a saving grace. I bought this little Kiko Cream Eyeshadow during my last stint in London, it was discounted and the colour just screamed out to me!

I had always wanted to try some of the Kiko cosmetics range, having tried some of their nail polishes before. This little pot of cream eyeshadow is ’05 Pearly Silver Rose’, which is a beautiful irridescent silver/gold.

This is a long lasting cream eyeshadow which is meant to be super blendable, (auto correct wants this to say bendable lol) with up to 10 hours staying power.

The texture of this shadow really is silky soft – it feels velvety in the pot but when you start to apply it to the lid (without primer, may I add) it starts to set to a powder. I think if you plan to blend this I would get that blending brush at the ready pretty sharpish as you have a small window of opportunity before this sets!

The colour pay off is brilliant, you can see how sheeny and pigmented the shadow is and it only cost £3.40!

I am amazed by the quality of this cream eyeshadow and I can say it did actually stay put all night! I used this with a matte black shadow in the crease and then I patted this over the inner third of my eyelid.

The only thing I’m not keen on (and ALL beauty brands are guilty of this) is that when you get these little pots of shadows they have a blown up bottom (as in the glass makes it look like you’re getting more product than you are). In actual fact, you’re getting a whopping SIX ML

Wow, generous!

Lol 🙂

Have you tried any Kiko cosmetics?

Thanks for reading guys 🙂

Make Up Geek Sparklers Review – Disappointing…

A late night Friday browse on Beauty Bay led to a purchase that I was very excited about. Make Up Geek have released a range of ‘Sparklers’ which are loose glitter pots in a range of really striking colours. I had been on the hunt for an emerald green glitter for a while – I even checked Urban Decay shadows but the closest they had is a dark forest green.

I had a look through the shade options and the one that caught my eye was called ‘Martian’. Also, they were discounted so I thought it would be a great chance to buy them! Little did I know that the reason they were discounted is BECAUSE THEY DON’T BLOODY HAVE ANY SIFTERS ON THEM. Apparently MUG have announced that this is why they have reduced the price, to cover the inconvenience and UTTER MESS the little pots create when you try to open them. (You lose a significant amount of the glitter just by merely opening the pot). I have listed some alternatives you can look at below!

At first I was really excited and expected the pigmentation to be insane, for it to be a really easy product to use. Even from Neve Cosmetics (which I at first didn’t trust) have sifters on the pots.

After opening the pot and losing around half a penny size of glitter, I then sprayed a flat eyeshadow brush with the NYX Make Up Setting Spray to see if that would help the glitter stick and adhere.

I was sorely disappointed to find out, then later hear that you can’t use this as a simple eyeshadow, make up setting sprays don’t help and the best thing is to use an eye safe adhesive to stick the glitter on. You could try the Too Faced Shadow Insurance glue which is suitable for glitter.

If you are looking for some alternatives to the Make Up Geek Sparklers you could try:

I think I won’t buy one of these again, I will probably invest in a reasonably priced glitter glue like the one above to try but it sounds mega fiddly!

Have you had any experience with good eye adhesives?

If so, let me know in the comments! 🙂

2016 Make Up Trend Predictions!

IT’S OFFICIAL!!!

It’s 2016 and it feels bloody weird. It’s also my birthday this month which feels double weird – I’m going to be 26 (insert blushing shocked whatsapp face).

I wanted to show you my predictions for the make up trends that will be big this year – then at the end of the year I can see whether I was right or not! In 2015 there were lots of new make up launches…primers, mascaras and new fangled liquid lipsticks. Being a keen user of Instagram I can show you what I think what looks will be big this year and how to get them :).

GLITTER ALL ROUND –

glitter shadow

Eyeshadow looks featuring glitter and glitter eyeliners have been big in the second half of this year. Heck, even glitter BEARDS have taken off! This is a great easy way to build a party look or a make up look for a special occasion – a simple matte eyeshadow blended into the crease with a glitter eyeliner is a quick way to create a chic make up look.

Or if you’re looking for something more dramatic you could use a glitter pigment or loose glitter to press onto your eyelids…you can use a gentle make up glue or eyeshadow primer for the glitter to stick to. If you are using an eyeshadow with glitter particles in it you could spray your eyeshadow brush with a setting spray to wet the brush and make the pigment stronger.

MATTE LIPS –

Matte lipstick is having a BIG thing now. This is partly down to the likes of Kylie Jenner pumping up her lips and applying what seems to be a nude paint on them (not entirely sure why this is so popular) but I think this is a trend that is here to stay.

Overlining your lips will help to make them look larger and using a matte liquid lipstick with a lighter lipstick patted onto the centre of the bottom lip will help to create this look.

SHOP THE LOOK –

Topshop Lip Bullet

MUA Luxe Matte Lipstick

I think these trends are gonna be big through the whole of this year 🙂

What make up trends do you think will be popular this year?

Looking for some new hair curlers?

Apologies for my hiatus over the past few days – a fried Macbook charger cable had temporarily put me out of the blogosphere…but I’m back! (with a brand new charger free, thanks Apple!)

I bought the Bombay Hair 32mm Gold Waving Wand on Black Friday and filmed a brief review for you – where you can see how the curler actually performs as well. This barrel is thicker and this means it creates waves rather than full on curls. When I bought the curler it was actually half price – I had been keeping my eye on it and was really happy that it was promoted on Black Friday.

I’m not going to give too much away, in the video below I actually use the curlers in real time so you can see exactly how the waves come out, so you’ll have to watch it to hear my thoughts!

What does Christmas mean for a Beauty Blogger?

I wanted to write about something topical today – and low and behold (is that how you’re meant to write that?!) it’s Christmas in two days!

Christmas means a lot of things to a lot of people…for me it means family, presents, lots of food and relaxing watching Christmas films and dreadful prime time soaps (cue the point where I start playing with my presents). For my second Christmas as a beauty blogger it makes me think of any new presents that I can use for tutorials and that I can make the most of my time being off work to satisfy my hobby.

christmas mean to beauty

As I say, it’s been about a year of what I like to call PROPER BLOGGING. I started my blog in April last year and didn’t really touch it until Christmas last year. I’ve had a great year starting out and last Christmas was where I really started to engage with Instagram, the blogging community and it was when I tried Twitter and realised I hated it (:S).

The extra time to blog has been great – I’ve loved sitting at my computer and thinking of ideas and videos that I can do and getting ahead and prepared is the best way to spend this kind of time. I’ve had time to relax too which has been great (I’m one of those people where if I have free time I usually FIND ways to fill it rather than just sit there, blame my mum for that).

What does Christmas mean for you? Especially my fellow blogging community – do you use your christmas for more posts and videos, or use it to completely forget about blogging?

I can now take this opportunity to say a big MERRY CHRISTMAS to you all, be safe, spend time with your loved ones and I can’t wait for what the next year will hold!

Thanks guys,

Roshni xxx

P.S. I can’t believe people are still reading my posts. If you have read up to here comment saying something like ‘CHRISTMAS ON FLEEK’ hahahaha

Week 3 – The Body Shop Advent Calendar!

The thought of waking up and not having a little present each morning is a bit sad but I’ve really enjoyed opening my advent calendar! There have been some great skincare and bath things in the calendar and it all looks excellent quality. I’ve also started thinking about different ways I can use the box after…I’ll do a little post on this after!

So here I can show you the things I have got in the 12th – 19th days of Christmas!

The Outfit and Make Up I Wore to my Work Christmas Party!

Tis the season for office work parties, tra la la la la laaaa la la la la! The very meaningful decision of what to wear comes to the fore and you’re left with a predicament. This post is by no means a guide of what to wear but it will how you what I decided to wear to my work Christmas Party, and how to get the look if that’s what you’d like :).

When you have a work/office Christmas Party, consider the venue. Mine was quite a corporate event so I decided a black outfit was what I would go for. I wanted something smart but still quite glamorous, so I opted for a bardot style top, with an above knee length skirt that had a black feather frill. I love this little detail on this skirt – it just adds a touch of chicness to the outfit in a really subtle way. Paired with some nude platform high heels and a statement necklace, it’s a simple outfit but I think it looked quite appropriate! Ignore the dirty mirror…

Here are the shoes…which I did manage to walk in for ALMOST the whole night!:

For make up, I wanted some dark smokey eyes but paired with a very nude simple lip. For eyes, I used the MAC Painterly Paint Pot as my base and started to blend some Black from the Lorac Pro Palette into the crease.

I applied Matte Liquid Eyeliner from Maybelline along my lash line and did a small flick, and applied some Glitter Eyeliner (which is also from Maybelline) over the top. Lashes were Red Cherry Wispies and I smudged some of the black eyeshadow along my lower lash line too :).

I hope you guys have enjoyed this post!

Let me know what you wore to your Christmas parties…:)

Thank you for reading!

Lots of love,

Why I’m Obsessed with Instagram…

If anyone follows me on Instagram, they’ll know that I quite like it. I post a lot and I usually go on it around 2 – 3 times a day. Go through my feed and double tap on anything that takes my fancy, it’s such an EASY way to explore photography and it fits right into our convenient, time limited day to day lifestyles.

It gives you the opportunity to experiment with photography and you don’t even need a big fancy camera in order to do it – I find my iPhone 6s camera is just right.

IMG_7606

One of my favourite things about Instagram is when you come across a great account that shows sped up make up tutorials. Make up feeds are my favourite kind to browse through and I’ve tried my hand at some close up pictures too but am still practising! For those I tend to ignore my front camera and use a mirror so that I can use my back camera instead which is much much better quality.

I like following large brands Instagram accounts because it’s a great way of finding out what their newest products and sale offers are – some of my favourites are Essie, Bombay Hair, Nars, Benefit and Make Up Geek (which I’ve just heard that you can get on Beauty Bay!).

Have you guys got any favourite Instagram accounts you can recommend following? 🙂
