Kiko Cream Crush Eyeshadow – 05 Pearly Silver Rose

Hi Everyone!

Today I have a review for you, for something that became a saving grace. I bought this little Kiko Cream Eyeshadow during my last stint in London, it was discounted and the colour just screamed out to me!

I had always wanted to try some of the Kiko cosmetics range, having tried some of their nail polishes before. This little pot of cream eyeshadow is ’05 Pearly Silver Rose’, which is a beautiful irridescent silver/gold.

This is a long lasting cream eyeshadow which is meant to be super blendable, (auto correct wants this to say bendable lol) with up to 10 hours staying power.

The texture of this shadow really is silky soft – it feels velvety in the pot but when you start to apply it to the lid (without primer, may I add) it starts to set to a powder. I think if you plan to blend this I would get that blending brush at the ready pretty sharpish as you have a small window of opportunity before this sets!

The colour pay off is brilliant, you can see how sheeny and pigmented the shadow is and it only cost £3.40!

I am amazed by the quality of this cream eyeshadow and I can say it did actually stay put all night! I used this with a matte black shadow in the crease and then I patted this over the inner third of my eyelid.

The only thing I’m not keen on (and ALL beauty brands are guilty of this) is that when you get these little pots of shadows they have a blown up bottom (as in the glass makes it look like you’re getting more product than you are). In actual fact, you’re getting a whopping SIX ML

Wow, generous!

Lol 🙂

Have you tried any Kiko cosmetics?

Thanks for reading guys 🙂

The Glitteriest Eyeshadow Trio…EVER.

Hi Guys!

I’m gonna start this post with a picture :). A glorious, glittery and glamorous picture.

See article A:

EYESHADOWTRIO

This gorgeous eyeshadow palette was kindly sent to me by Born Pretty Store. I was gifted a few products, here you can read my first review of an amazingly thin liquid eyeliner :).

This Shimmer Eyeshadow Trio is only $4.22, so it’s great value for money. I said in my previous post, please don’t be concerned that the prices are in dollars…I found that the shipping was quick and the quality was great.

I have always loved the idea of an antique gold-y eyeshadow and I have now finally got one! The first thing I noticed about this palette was just HOW glittery they are. They were really pigmented when I watched them, but the only thing I wasn’t as keen on was that they do contain quite coarse glitter.

The white shade is most probably my least favourite colour…the bronze gold and the ‘antique’ gold are gorgeous! I would definitely recommend using an eyeshadow primer with these simply because creating a light base will help these colours pop.

I don’t think I’ll use the sponge applicator that came with it, I’d much rather use my eyeshadow brushes but you could probably do a decent job even with the little double ended sponge. If you fancy trying some products from Born Pretty Store then you’ll be pleased to hear they offer FREE worldwide shipping AND I have an exclusive 10% off discount code!

Scroll up and take a look in my side bar —> If you click that banner you’ll be taken directly to the store…don’t forget to type in the below discount code for 10% off!

My Beauty Guide to Dealing with Heat

heatproofmakeupIt’s hot at the moment in the UK.

I bet when this post goes up though, it will be peeing it down like nobody’s business…

There are certain ways you can avoid literal beauty meltdowns, conveniently today I have some tips for you!

1. POWDER IS YOUR BEST FRIEND –

On those days where it is hotter inside than outside, a good MATTE powder will help you out. Dust a light powder over your T zone and down the sides of your mouth, using a sparse make up brush. Don’t use a dense bristled make up brush or you will end up with too much product on the brush. Rimmel does a great translucent powder which is a bargain too!

2. USE AN EYESHADOW PRIMER –

This step will help your eyeshadow stay on your face! It will also help if you have oily eyelids (yuck, but it does happen). A primer will help colours pop, especially if you use a very pale coloured paint pot or primer. This helps in particular when you are slowly building up eyeshadow layers, for example using your transition colour first, then your crease colour, centre of the eyelid colour and then inner corner highlight! Oh and brow highlight if you are going all out :). I love the MAC Painterly Paint Pot, which lass forever.

3. WATERPROOF EYEBROWS –

Something that ASTOUNDED me when I received the Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade in my online Beauty Bay order (and blew my mind) was that it is waterproof. Waterproof eyebrows of all things, lol. Sounds ridiculous, but it actually is waterproof. Those days when it’s boiling at work and you are rubbing your face/head/eyes you don’t want your eyebrows to be smeared half way down your face!

4. A MAKE UP SETTING SPRAY –

Nowadays you can actually get make up setting sprays that are MATTE! How amazing, so you can put all the prep work in using the tips above to make sure you don’t end up a sweaty betty and then you also have the added assurance of having a matte setting spray! It will help keep everything in place even if it is boiling hot and you feel like your face is going to melt off your skeleton. This NYX one looks like a contender!

5. KEEP YOUR HAIR OFF YOUR FACE –

This one is more of a skincare tip, but keeping your hair off your face will mean that you have to touch your face less. Touching your face lots in the heat isn’t good for your skin (especially if you are working in an office or germy environment) as it will transfer bacteria! This just means more spots to cover up with concealer…ew. For this easiest way is to plait your fringe across the top of your head, use a bobby pin to clip your hair back, or an Alice band to keep it off your face!

I hope you guys have enjoyed hearing my tips! Do you have any of your own?

Thanks for reading :),
