Want to Know How to Thread Your Own Eyebrows?

…Then give this video a watch, where I look rough AF and thread my eyebrows!

In this video I show you how I thread along the top of my eyebrows, as this is the easiest part to thread on yourself. When it comes to underneath your brow, you can thread but it’s riskier as this skin is more delicate and easier to hurt :(.

That’s why I tend to just tweeze this area as normal.

Let me know what you think if you find it useful, or if you think you’re going to give it a go!!

The Dumbest Eyebrow Revelation…

But it’s an important one.

A Superdrug beauty haul went up on my channel a yesterday (I’ll leave you a link near the bottom of this here post) and in it I said how I went to Superdrug to get an eyebrow pencil but left with everything but the eyebrow pencil *sniff* :'(.

What that meant was that I had nothing left to do my eyebrows, other than some nubby old eyebrow pencils, a dried out ABH Dipbrow Pomade and some old eyeshadows.

Little did I know that my running out of Eyebrow Pencil situation was going to make me realise something very important.

Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done – Tinted Moisturiser

I’ve been looking for a new foundation/tinted moisturiser ever since I could see the little glass corners of my Estée Lauder Double Wear bottle.

It took me a good few trips to my nearest Debenhams (where they NEVER have any staff on the flipping make up counters) and many times of me hounding them for samples to get to this point! Cue the picture of the mini sample pots below…

I’d picked up another sample of the Estée Lauder Double Wear but it was a sample from their cushion foundation stick, a Born This Way Too Faced sample, an Urban Decay One & Done sample and a sample of a Clinique foundation!

So on my Youtube channel not long ago I filmed a review/before and after using the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara and I thought to myself, ‘Why not do the same for what used to be my most favourite ever?!?’

A while ago I used to LOVE the Maybelline Lash Sensational and recently I bought it again.

However THIS time, I noticed a few changes in the formula and wanted to share it with you…here is a sneak peek below of the before and after!

My Summer Pastels Manicure Routine!

Hi Guys!

I’ve got a really fun 3 minute video to bring to you today! 🙂

I get quite a few questions via Instagram and comments day to day about my nails and how I get them so shiny/decent looking, so I thought it was about time I show you what my nail routine looks like. I filmed a quick 3 minute video which you can click on below, it shows you my routine and the nail polish of choice was a beautiful mint pastel green from Nails Inc called ‘Belsize Lane’.

I had wanted to try something different and creative and if you scroll down the bottom of this post you will see what I had constructed in order to bring this little video to you – it’s mind blowing lol.

Leave me a comment if you’d like and give the video a like if you enjoyed it! I was pretty chuffed with this video so I really hope you enjoy it.

Btw, THIS is how I filmed this video :’)

The Dry Skinned Girl’s Best Friends…

Favourite Skincare for Dry Skin

If you have dry skin, finding the right moisturisers can be quite difficult. You want something for day time that’s not too shiny, that you can layer make up over and for night time you want something that will hydrate your skin but not break it out!

A tough ask, some might say! I’ve got dry skin and even though it’s summer it doesn’t really change between the seasons so I’m pretty much stuck with it all year round (often it gets WORSE in winter which is exactly what I want..not). The amount of moisturisers you see up there might SEEM like a lot but often layering is the best way to lock moisture into your skin, stopping you looking like a dehydrated orange :’).

One thing that it’s important not to forget is protecting your skin from UVA/UVB rays (I dunno what the difference is between the two I just know that they are bad) so using a moisturiser with SPF’s in will help your skin stay smooth and free from sun damage!

I’ve heard some skincare-y people saying that the small amount of SPF in moisturisers isn’t enough to actually protect your skin from sun damage…but I’m not sure companies could make that claim if they didn’t do some good towards the cause *shrugs*.

Here’s what I use to keep my face from looking like shrivelly fruit!

The Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating Face Mist, £9.50 –

If you have dry skin and the myriad of options for skincare are bamboozling you, if something says ‘hydrating’ you should pick it up because it will be helpful for your skin. I’m on my third bottle of this mist, it’s such an easy way of hydrating your skin and adding an extra layer to help your skin stay fresh throughout the working day (depends on how hard you work too, lol). I use this as the first step in my skincare, spritzing it over my face and then I apply the following:

Origins GinZing Eye Cream, £20 –

I’ve been loving using this Origins cream, it’s been a staple in my morning skincare and it’s perfect for applying under make up. This is quite a thick formula cream but it smooths into your skin really well – it leaves your under eyes looking glowy but this cream doesn’t have any sparkle/glitter pigments in it which is excellent.

I’ve just started using the Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer at the same point that I’ve started using this under eye cream, which was a bit silly because I don’t know which out of the two has caused my skin to feel SOFT AS A CLOUD BABY’S BUTT. It may be a combination of both, but I’ve found using this cream and the new concealer this is the best my under eyes have ever looked! As under eyes go, that is…

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief Gel Cream, £34 –

This cream is a gel based formula so this means it packs alot more moisture into a skincare product that has a non greasy finish. This is why this is so perfect for day time! A pot of this tends to last me around 6 months, which is crazy because it’s not actually a big pot of product!

A little goes a long way, so once I’ve scrunched my eyes up in preparation to spritz the Body Shop Mist over my face I will smooth a small blob of this gel cream over my face as well, taking care to really rub it in and massage my skin at the same time. Doing this will increase the blood flow in your skin and this helps keep your skin healthy and glowy!

Paula’s Choice Clear Ultra Light Daily Mattifying Fluid with SPF, £10 –

Paula chooses good, you know. This mattifying fluid is completely new to me, I got it in my June Birchbox and I haven’t looked back since. Using this as an extra layer of moisture AND sun protectant has been a really lovely addition to my routine and it’s made me feel better about the potential sunlight I might be exposing my face to (it’s Britain though so who knows if the Sun actually wants to put his hat on and come out to play). I put a small amount of this on after the Clinique Gel Cream over my forehead, cheeks and nose :).

The Body Shop Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask, £24 –

So, this mask is a bit like Marmite – you either love it or it makes you feel weird. This is a putty like texture, the mask is described as ‘bouncy’ and it literally is. I scoop up a bit of this and rub it between my palms and smooth over my face and neck at nighttime before bed as this is intended to be a cream/mask for adding hydration overnight. If you can get used to the consistency it really does good stuff to your skin. I feel like when I wake up with a labyrinth of pillow creases on my face, I know I’ve done my bit overnight to help plump them out again by using this!

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading up on the things I use to combat dry skin 🙂 they work for me, I can only hope they work as well for you!

Thanks for reading 🙂 till next time!

My 5 Favourite Things at the Moment…

By the way, how cute is that font though….

So after a couple of weeks away from my laptop and the blogging arena, I am back and ready to go on at you all about the things I have been loving/have been my favourite/have been at the forefront of my periphery most recently.

This is pretty mixed, it’s not all make up *surprised?!*, I thought I’d round up my favourites as I bet there will be something on this list you’ll love too :).

  1. CUTE PYJAMAS:

The print that you see behind the purple artwork above is actually my newest pair of pyjamas. These are from H&M and they are the sweetest pyjamas ever – it’s a set with a long sleeved slouchy top and a pair of elasticated shorts. The print has all things from cakes to stars to pizza to CACTI. CACTI, YOU KNOW.

H&M Pyjamas!

*sorry I think these are in store only, I’ve had a look online and they aren’t there :(*

2. EASY CONTOURING:

I’m going to do a more in depth blog post on this so keep your peepers peeled…but I have been loving absolute idiot proof contouring. If you’ve ever read my blog before you will know I have a face as perfectly spherical as a 2p coin (I chose 2p as it’s a bit more moon face-y than a 1p). Thus, I need something ridiculously simple in order to provide some much needed definition. Cue the Maybelline Master V Contouring Stick which costs hardly anything for something that can create such definition in a little sweepy blendy motion. It’s so easy and I’ll be doing a post to show you how I use it!

3. MASCARAS THAT DON’T GET CEMENTED TO YOUR LASHES:

I have been a lover of the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara for a good 2 years or so, but since purchasing a new one I swear they have changed the formula or something because I’m finding it a nightmare to get off. Its definitely not a waterproof version that I have so I don’t know what they’ve done to it lol. Instead I’ve been reaching for the Too Faced Better Than Sex on a daily basis as this is lovely to use and comes off really quickly. You can watch my Youtube review of this mascara here!

4. BEAUTY SUBSCRIPTION BOXES:

Namely, my Birchbox subscription! To briefly explain, it costs £12.95 per month, which covers P&P as well and you get an assortment of sample sized beauty/skincare products, with an odd full size version thrown in in some months! The boxes are beautiful and are perfect for storing your little beauty gems afterwards and I’ve been loving it. You can watch my unboxing of the June Birchbox by clicking here :).

5. EYE CREAMS TO PREPARE FOR WHEN YOU’RE 45 AND WRINKLY:

I don’t know if I’ll be wrinkly at 45, but it’s likely. Very likely, I’m so god damn smiley.

This Origins GinZing Eye Cream definitely feels like it’s doing good to prepare for that time. It’s great under make up as I’m sure it contains light reflecting pigments (but it’s not glittery) it just gives a lovely radiant glow! It’s a bit more pricey but remember, your 45 year old self may thank you in the long run…

There are my 5 favourite things I’m loving at the moment!

I hope you enjoyed this post, leave me a comment on the thing you like the most (or the least, for that matter)!

Apologies for the hiatus 🙂

Lots of love,
Roshni xxx
