OGX Bamboo Fiber-Full Shampoo & Conditioner Review

Hi Guys!

I love a good OGX 2 for £10 promotion as much as the next Boots loving maniac, so when I last went into Boots and saw the colourful array of OGX products I thought I would try a new range. I’ve tried the OGX Biotin & Collagen range before and the Niacin and Caffeine but this OGX Bamboo Fiber-Full range caught my eye as the bottles are bright green!

They just look like they would do good for your hair (I know that’s not the most concrete reason to buy a shampoo and conditioner lol but let’s go with it).

This range of shampoo and conditioner claims to plump up the look of your hair using bamboo fibers and soy proteins – I’d assume that something as natural as bamboo would work well to nourish your hair but I haven’t actually come across many beauty/haircare products with this ingredient in. Cue my wide eyed intrigue!

I was disappointed by one thing straight away that I should have realised…but the actual liquid isn’t green! Waaah – I squeezed out some of the shampoo and did a bit of a double take when I saw it was clear, then had some crushing disappointment when I realised it was just the green bottle. However, I gave it a good sniff and I was pleased! It smells lovely – it has a really fresh natural scent, unfortunately I couldn’t smell it on my hair afterwards when it was dry and styled so it must have all washed out, but it was still lovely while I used it in the shower.

One thing that’s great about OGX shampoos is that they really lather up well so your hair always feels like it’s had a deep clean – the shampoo and conditioner formulae are never thin and watery, meaning they are packed with great ingredients and you get lovely clean hair.

I already love OGX shampoos and conditioners as you tend to get alot in them! These bottles are 385ml and they feel very sturdy – perfect for anyone prone knocking stuff over, like me. 🙂

The conditioner is a greeny white colour and smells LOVELY! I love conditioners that really coat the hair so that you can almost use them as an intensive mask to hydrate the ends of your hair and I knew I could definitely use this one in that way.

After washing, drying and styling my hair for the first time I brushed through it using my Wet Brush and Tangle Teezer (now my hair is alot longer often I have to tackle it with both as it can get knotty!) I noticed that my hair had become a bit…elasticcy (hey you squiggly red line I know that’s not a real word). As in, when I brushed it, it was like some of my hair strands STRETCHED! I’d rather this didn’t happen as I don’t want my hair to break, I will need to see the more I use it but other than this weird elastic side effect the rest of my hair felt strong and shiny. My favourite range from OGX so far is the Biotin and Collagen one – it smells so good, like sweet and smoky at the same time!

Have you tried this shampoo and conditioner from OGX?

Does Anyone Even Blog Anymore?!

I’m writing this post after returning to my WordPress Dashboard, with 337 spamalam comments and an ever nearing media upload limit. I’m returning to my blog because I’m trying to get back the joy and satisfaction I’d feel whenever I wrote a blog post! Alot of bloggers in our lovely community have written before about how hard it is to continue to upload content you’re happy with and to not get bogged down by pressure, the frustration and everything that goes with it.

My First Ever Cohorted Beauty Box – April Edition!

Hi Guys!

I got a bit bored of my Birchbox subscription that I’d had for around 4 – 5 months, so I thought I’d see what else there was on the market beauty box wise. After a little bit of research, I’d decided to give Cohorted a try as it’s more of a luxury, high end box with an amazing box value each month!

The Cohorted beauty box costs £35 each month that you receive it, which is very expensive, BUT the value of the contents in each box is usually around £100 – which means that you are actually saving money against if you were buying these products full size from another shop.

When I was researching beauty boxes, I found people’s blog really useful and as this was of the more expensive boxes, it helped me make sure I wasn’t wasting my money. So I thought I’d add my review to the mix so hopefully, this might help someone else who’s after a bit of monthly pampering/treats!

L’Oréal True Match Anti-Fatigue Concealer

Good lord, it’s been a while since I put finger to keyboard around these parts. Cue 200 spammy spam comments on my blog and I know it’s about time I got back into some posts – I have tonnes of products to review for you and lots of make up looks to talk about!

SO first things first, I have a little surprising product review for you – this is of something I didn’t have massively high hopes for but ended up actually loving!

This L’Oréal True Match concealer (£7.99) was a weird purchase for me – I was putting off repurchasing the Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer which is my all time favourite, but it is quite expensive. I ended up flailing around in Boots like a maniac until I picked up one of these concealers (a TWIST UP PEN for God’s sake) and gave it a new home.

I was surprised that I quite liked this when I started using it. Even the twist up thing doesn’t annoy me too much! Amazing!

The concealer I chose was in the shade ‘Warm Beige’ (a complete and utter guess) and it’s quite pinky toned, but in a nice way. I do find this is good at reflecting light which makes it a good concealer for under the eyes. It’s thicker in consistency than you’d expect from a twist up pen concealer, but that was a pleasant surprise to me!

I think because of the shade of it I’d be better off using a colour corrector under this, as it can come off a little grey/ashy for me when used on it’s own.

I’ve recently started enjoying using a small concoction of concealers to help balance my face out – I use the Urban Decay Naked Skin in Medium Neutral (£19) as the main concealer under my eyes (yessss I caved and bought another), this concealer by L’Oréal around the edges of my undereyes and then the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer in ‘Soft Beige’ (£5.49) to highlight at the outer corners of my eyes. This really helps to wake my face up and make it look alot healthier…like I’ve had a really good sleep!

Have you tried this concealer before? Or any weird twisty up pen ones?!

Feels glad to be back people!

Thanks for your support and reads, those of you who are reading 🙂

L’Oréal False Lash Sculpt Mascara – Clump Central :(

Hello Everyone!

I bought this mascara after hearing really good things about it, I’m always on the lookout for a better mascara! This is the L’Oréal False Lash Sculpt mascara, which I picked up from Boots for £9.99.

I was intrigued by the weird triangular brush and thought it would be a good one to try out. Usually I go for mascaras with quite a large brush so they capture more lashes, so this one kinda goes against everything I normally opt for!

Nyx Vivid Brights Eyeliner Tutorial!

Hi Guys!

I’ve got a tutorial to share with you today, using the beautiful Nyx Vivid Brights Vivid Sapphire Eyeliner which is a gorgeous electric blue liquid liner.

I tried to keep this tutorial nice and simple! The liquid liner is really easy to use and has a fine point which makes it nice and easy to create a wing – though, dragging it back means that you get blue eyeliner on your lashes!
