My Obsession with Dainty Jewellery

Hello Everyone!

I have an obsession with dainty jewellery, particularly necklaces and earrings. I think there’s something so beautiful about a slim, delicate chain with a small, simple pendant. On asian skin as well, bright golds and silvers look really pretty!

The shops that I think are best for dainty, delicate jewellery are probably the usual suspects: Accessorize, H & M, and Topshop! I think gold is my favourite style, with silver and copper coming a close second. I have a picked a selection of my MOST favourite pieces for you to peruse below:

This necklace is my most recent purchase, from H & M (I think it was around £4.99). This is quite a pale coppery colour, and it has a really thin chain and a simple horse shoe and circle design. The only thing I get annoyed about is untangling it!

turkeynecklace

This is one of my favourites 🙂 this necklace I bought when I went to Turkey with my sister. The shop was quite big, but it was run by a very old man with a white beard and shuffly sandals on. This is a REALLY thin gold ball style chain, with a bright blue and silver round pendant. The chain is so delicate that I have to be quite careful with it as I’m always scared it’ll snap!

topshop

I’m so pleased with how this photo turned out! This necklace is a beautiful chain with triangular amethyst stones. I like how there are 5 (an odd number always looks very satisfying) and the chain again is very dainty and thin. I love the bright purple of the stones against the coppery/gold chain.

accessorizez

This last necklace is from Accessorise, part of their ‘Z’ collection. The jewellery from the ‘Z’ range is a bit more expensive, but the pieces are usually so beautiful and dainty that I think it’s definitely worth it. The stones on this necklace are like a light aqua blue, so set against the bright almost yellowy gold it’s really striking. Something about it makes me think of Greece, they carry that style through to the packaging and font in the range design so I love that all the pieces are designed within the same style.

What is your favourite from the bunch? Or are you the opposite and loving in your face blingy necklaces and earrings?!

Thanks for reading,

Roshni 🙂 xxx

Mini Haul #1!

On the last day of Summer, what could be better than to browse a mini haul and draw a close to the gorgeous summer we have had this year. I’m quite looking forward to Autumn, being able to wrap up in a winter coat, stepping on some crunchy-ass leaves, and enjoying the run up to Christmas!

Below are a few things I have bought recently:

Starting with something different, the amethyst coloured necklace was from Topshop, and I bought this when I was in London staying with my sister . I love the way the gold chain and lilac stones look together. I quite like that the chain is very thin, and the simple 5 stone design is modern and will go with many outfits. I’ve had a look online and I can’t find a link to it 🙁 but I think it was around £17, and it was bought from the Oxford Circus Topshop. The little gold links between the stones aren’t particularly sturdy, but sometimes to tighten them I’ll grab a pair of tweezers and gently squeeze the rings tighter to make sure they don’t stretch.

The eyeshadow is a L’oréal Color Riche in ‘Cafe St Germain’, available here (shade 201). This is a perfect everyday shade, and from the look of it I think it would go on really well with a slightly damp brush too. The texture is really silky and velvety, and this shimmery taupe is a great alternative to a neutral cream eyeshadow.

Now, we move onto the most expensive of the bunch (Benefit, ‘They’re Real’ Mascara £17.55 at Boots). I remember trying this out in a Boots store last year, and a Benefit sales assistant tried this on me. It is really great for lengthening and separating, but man is this hard to remove. I use the Simple Eye Make Up Remover, which is great at removing my usual mascaras such as the Maybelline The Falsies etc. ‘They’re Real’ is not completely unshift-able, but it does require a bit more rubbing and remover than your usual formula mascaras. The brush is really good – a sturdy plastic brush, with a weird spiky ball on the end which is ideal for the outer corner lashes. All in all, although this is good for lengthening, it does not beat my ultimate higher end favourite which is the Benefit ‘Bad Gal Lash’, with it’s mighty fat brush!

And finally, I watched Tanya Burr’s latest baking video where she made the most SCRUMPTIOUS white and milk chocolate cookies ever…and she was wearing a gorgeous dark purple nail varnish from her own range. It’s called ‘Midnight Sparkles’ and I picked it up from Feel Unique for £3.59. This is a really lovely colour, not the thickest formula but it is still quite easy to build up a strong dark colour. The purple shimmer in it is really subtle, and it’s the perfect shade for Autumn/Winter. Here is a little snap shot (yes it’s instagrammed which is why I look orange):
