Soap & Glory One Heck Of A Blot Powder – Review!

Hi Guys,

I’m writing this today as the post I wish had already been written when I bought this product. I had been on the hunt for a translucent, mattifying powder for quite a while.

Most important to me was that I found something with no shimmer in it whatsoever – not even a cheeky glimmer. Cue a little trip to Boots, where I was looking at the options I had. I came across the Soap & Glory One Heck Of a Blot powder (£12) and my eyes went wide. This powder was actually one I’d heard good things about, so I thought I’d have a little look at the tester.

IT WAS GONE. NOWHERE IN SIGHT, just a sad, little empty tester tray. I also couldn’t look inside the product as they all had that plastic wrap around them to stop you doing what I wanted to do, get in it :’).

The main reason this was so annoying was because I wasn’t able to check for a shimmer free zone. Though, I did think to give it a quick google on my phone and saw that it looked ok from the inside! I had hoped to find someone’s post about it though so I could get an idea – so this is why I hope this post helps someone out there on their quest for Matte-ness.

I was right, this powder is translucent and has no shimmer in it. It’s a pale powder only available in translucent, which is good as you don’t have any confusion between shades. I like the paleness and the texture – the paleness doesn’t translate onto the skin it is a true translucent, but I think the paleness is like reassurance that it is going to mattify (I know that sounds weird).

This powder has a yellowy tone in the pan but disappears into the skin when you apply. I’ve been using this across my T zone to help in the balmy late summer/autumn days we’ve been having recently. This has done really well in my opinion – it’s lovely to use with a soft make up brush. It comes with a little powder puff but I’d rather not use that and end up putting too much of this on.

I’ve also been using this to set my undereyes – that’s ok, right? (I’m not sure I just wanted one thing to do it all lol).

I also like how it’s called POWder in Pop Art letters :).

I’ve quite liked using this so I’m really happy!

Have any of you guys tried this powder? What are your thoughts on it? 🙂

Thanks for reading,
