There’s a new mascara out at the moment by L’Oréal – it’s called the Miss Baby Roll Mascara and it comes in a few exciting bright colours aaaaaaaand then black of course. I picked this up when I last went to Superdrug because I fancied giving it a go and I hadn’t heard that there was a new mascara coming out.
I got a bit bored of my Birchbox subscription that I’d had for around 4 – 5 months, so I thought I’d see what else there was on the market beauty box wise. After a little bit of research, I’d decided to give Cohorted a try as it’s more of a luxury, high end box with an amazing box value each month!
The Cohorted beauty box costs £35 each month that you receive it, which is very expensive, BUT the value of the contents in each box is usually around £100 – which means that you are actually saving money against if you were buying these products full size from another shop.
When I was researching beauty boxes, I found people’s blog really useful and as this was of the more expensive boxes, it helped me make sure I wasn’t wasting my money. So I thought I’d add my review to the mix so hopefully, this might help someone else who’s after a bit of monthly pampering/treats!
Good lord, it’s been a while since I put finger to keyboard around these parts. Cue 200 spammy spam comments on my blog and I know it’s about time I got back into some posts – I have tonnes of products to review for you and lots of make up looks to talk about!
SO first things first, I have a little surprising product review for you – this is of something I didn’t have massively high hopes for but ended up actually loving!
This L’Oréal True Match concealer (£7.99) was a weird purchase for me – I was putting off repurchasing the Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer which is my all time favourite, but it is quite expensive. I ended up flailing around in Boots like a maniac until I picked up one of these concealers (a TWIST UP PEN for God’s sake) and gave it a new home.
I was surprised that I quite liked this when I started using it. Even the twist up thing doesn’t annoy me too much! Amazing!
The concealer I chose was in the shade ‘Warm Beige’ (a complete and utter guess) and it’s quite pinky toned, but in a nice way. I do find this is good at reflecting light which makes it a good concealer for under the eyes. It’s thicker in consistency than you’d expect from a twist up pen concealer, but that was a pleasant surprise to me!
I think because of the shade of it I’d be better off using a colour corrector under this, as it can come off a little grey/ashy for me when used on it’s own.
I’ve recently started enjoying using a small concoction of concealers to help balance my face out – I use the Urban Decay Naked Skin in Medium Neutral (£19) as the main concealer under my eyes (yessss I caved and bought another), this concealer by L’Oréal around the edges of my undereyes and then the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer in ‘Soft Beige’ (£5.49) to highlight at the outer corners of my eyes. This really helps to wake my face up and make it look alot healthier…like I’ve had a really good sleep!
Have you tried this concealer before? Or any weird twisty up pen ones?!
Feels glad to be back people!
Thanks for your support and reads, those of you who are reading 🙂
I bought this mascara after hearing really good things about it, I’m always on the lookout for a better mascara! This is the L’Oréal False Lash Sculpt mascara, which I picked up from Boots for £9.99.
I was intrigued by the weird triangular brush and thought it would be a good one to try out. Usually I go for mascaras with quite a large brush so they capture more lashes, so this one kinda goes against everything I normally opt for!
I’ve got a tutorial to share with you today, using the beautiful Nyx Vivid Brights Vivid Sapphire Eyeliner which is a gorgeous electric blue liquid liner.
I tried to keep this tutorial nice and simple! The liquid liner is really easy to use and has a fine point which makes it nice and easy to create a wing – though, dragging it back means that you get blue eyeliner on your lashes!
I know I’ve been pretty quiet on the blogging front recently – things have been pretty hectic since New Year so it definitely feels good to sit at my laptop and type away (tappety tap tap) about something that I love!
Yes today I am reviewing the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in the shade ‘Miranda May’ (£23) and can I just say, I bought this ONLINE. Yes, I bought a CT lipstick….ON. LINE. WITHOUT SEEING IT IN PERSON.
Am I mad? Most probably, yes. Lol I also bought a foundation on the internet which must mean I’m positively doolally. (what a nice word to say, it just rolls off the tongue).
I have a little review of a very pretty little blush compact for you today. A while ago I was browsing the Beauty Bay website and saw this gorgeous matte blush from Make Up Geek in the sale – aptly named ‘Valentine’ (it’s Valentine’s Day soon, had you forgotten?! Tut tut….lol)
A while ago I bought a few things from Beauty Bay and I decided to try something different to the ABH Dipbrow Pomade, mostly because it’s pretty expensive for what it is!
I do like the effect of using a pomade or a more waxy brow product as they tend to last longer and can sometimes have a surprisingly natural finish. I spotted this one from Milani (which is a drugstore brand that’s popular in the US) and thought, ‘for £8 why not give it a go!)
This is the Milani Stay Put Brow Colour and I chose the shade 05 dark brown.
This brow colour is very similar to the ABH dip brow pomade, but you actually get a spoolie and short angled brush so that you can get using it straight away!
Happy New Year to you all, it is time for my first post of the year and I will pre-warn you that this one may make you drool (you might want to get yo’self a bib)
I have bundled together the unboxing of my Marks and Spencers Beauty Advent Calendar into one post for you today so you can hear about all the goodies I’ve got. Feel free to comment with your thoughts on what’s here and if you’ve had this advent calendar this year let me know what your favourite products have been!
