Anyone who’s anyone around the blogging world will have heard of the Oribe Dry Texturising Spray. It is the most expensive hair spray I have ever come across, with bloggers and vloggers all over town raving about it.
The fact that you can only really get this from stores like Space NK, Net-A-Porter etc shows that this is a cult but very luxurious product. So, one month I received a sample sized version of the Oribe Dry Texturising Spray in a Birchbox so I was lucky enough to get to try one of these without having to first sell a kidney or another organ where I have two (wow, humans are so greedy).
That is so expensive.
So, when I was priveleged enough to try the texturising spray that makes you think it has tiny bits of gold in it (it doesn’t) I was very excited.
Firstly, you do need to shake this, just like any other texturising pressurised aerosol. Secondly, it smells LOVELY. Kind of like a pretty bonfire – it’s musky but sexy and it’s perfect for making your hair last either 1 or 2 days extra without people knowing how much of a tramp you are (we are all in this together girls).
Thirdly, it is very thick and good for adding volume – which is what you’d expect. The Oribe version is like a drugstore texturising spray on steroids. Some people might like that, for me I don’t need tonnes of volume so in fact when I’d shower after using it and then try and put my hand into my hair to get shampoo in there, the fact I had to really push through the dry shampoo freaked me out a little bit.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s great for volume, magnifying greasy hair a bit and adding a lovely smell…but is it worth £41 that I have worked by arse off for?
Sure as hell it is not. I could get an eyeshadow palette for that and palettes don’t stop me washing my hair.
What do you guys think, have any of you tried this texturising spray?!
Am I just being a grump?
Let me know what you think!
