I was originally going to do a post all about one lipstick, which happened to be the best nude I have ever found, that I recently rediscovered. When I was looking through the lip products I use on the regs, I actually found that there were around four that I reach for on an almost daily basis. I’ve put these together to show you the best lip products that give you maximum pay off for the least amount of effort (I spoil you, I know).
This lip gloss is from Tanya Burr’s range by Eye Candy, which I’m sure most of you guys know about now (I have the shade ‘Aurora’). She has recently expanded into eyelashes as well but am yet to try those! These lip glosses are SO pigmented, sweet smelling and long lasting. The only thing I’m not keen on is that they are slightly sticky, but I reckon she probably has got the formula of these bang on because if they weren’t this consistency I don’t think they would last half as long. I can put this on in the morning and still see the colour a good 4-8 hours later, without it going patchy or weird!
I picked this YSL Rouge Volupté lipstick in ‘Tasty Raspberry’ on the way back from a holiday, so unfortunately I think this shade isn’t available in the UK :(. It’s a sheer shimmery baby pink, but because it’s not too heavy it doesn’t look too pale. This has the nicest watermelon scent, and the most gorgeous packaging. It has a lip balm texture, doesn’t fade oddly and is very moisturising. Pricey, but well worth it!
The writing on the bullet of this has almost completely rubbed off, this is because this gloss stick is ALWAYS in my bag! This shade is ‘Plum Jam’ and it’s similar to the consistency of the Tanya Burr gloss so it can be quite sticky. What I do like about this is that the colour is quite strong, but suited to a gloss so it doesn’t need topping up too much and isn’t too drying. I personally think they should have more colour options in the range, but I guess S&G don’t tend to do this very much with any of their products!
DROP ERRYTING. NOW. This lipstick is the most perfect nude that you will ever find. It’s in the shade Beehive, the colour payoff hasn’t been done justice in this picture but trust me it seriously is amazing. Essie Button spoke about this shade in one of her most recent videos and I’m sure she said it was discontinued, but not in the UK!! Especially if you have a light asian skin tone, this will suit you so go out and get it! It’s a pinky toned nude, what pees me off about most nudes for asian skin tones is that they always have an orangey peachy undertone to them and I hate how they look. This lipstick is moisturising, slightly sheer with no hint of shimmer…perfect!
What is your holy grail lip product? That one product you can’t bear to take out of your bag!
Happy Sunday everyone 🙂
