How to Make Your Own Z Palette for £1.85…

SO, I have been really excited to do this post for you :).

The story starts when I decided to dip my toe into the Make Up Geek Pan Eyeshadow pond, then I realised that I would need something to put them in. I opted for a foiled eyeshadow, a duo chrome eyeshadow and then a matte crease shade that’s a deep auburn colour. (You will see some sneaky peeks of these as you look through my post!)

Cue me looking online to try and find a Z palette to buy, only to be sorely disappointed that they were quite expensive for what is essentially an EMPTY BOX.

If you want a Z palette from Make Up Geek, a 4 x eyeshadows palette costs $14.99 (£10.53) and even on Amazon they are still quite expensive for what they are. If anyone knows me, they will know that I try to be as resourceful as possible! I set about trying to see how I could make my own :).

So I have a step by step guide to show you how I made my own Z palette:

YOU WILL NEED:

  • Your Make Up Geek Eyeshadows
  • An old empty/cheap palette (I had one lying around, you want one where you can lever out the eyeshadow section)
  • Scissors
  • A sheet of magnet (I got mine from eBay for £1.85)

  1. First step is to lever out the eyeshadows from your current palette. I used an old MUA palette that I had which must have been around £4, so even if you needed to buy one of these then you still wouldn’t be paying as much as a Z palette! I used a small flat head screw driver to (carefully) lever out the eyeshadows. Voila! One empty palette.

3. You will need to place your empty palette onto your sheet of magnet and use a ruler to measure and draw on the sheet so you can cut this out to put into the palette. I found the best way was to cut a little bit larger than needed, then you can trim the edges to get it to fit in.

3. I found my magnet didn’t need to be stuck in – it fit quite snugly so it stayed flat in the palette. Next you need to get your MUG eyeshadows ready! This is the fun bit 🙂

I am loving this so far – and it cost me £1.85 to make so I am very very happy! I’d definitely recommend this if you are on a budget or don’t want to spend loads on an empty box like me. Haha! Also, as the magnet was an A4 sheet I have enough for more palettes if I want a bigger one!

Would you give this a go?! 😀

Lots of love,
