Here is ANOTHER nail varnish post. I didn’t think nail varnish was going to be a regular occurrence on this blog, but I think impending summer time has broadened my horizons…
I have a vast nail polish collection, and very rarely throw nail varnishes out even if they have pretty much solidified at the bottom of a murky bottle (don’t ask why). Although I like buying them, I had never got around to trying out Essie nail polishes. I know bloggers and vloggers like Lily Pebbles and Vivianna Does Makeup (whose blog I LOVE to read) rave about them until the cows come home – anyone ever thought where did those cows go? Maybe they went out raving.
Therefore, I thought I would buy my first one. It is quite a spring/summer shade that I went for, it is a lovely coral-y pink colour. I was tempted to get Bordeaux, but 1, that is an autumn winter shade and 2, I already have Nails Inc Regent Street which is very similar. (I couldn’t find a shop link for Regent Street, sorry I can’t remember if it’s limited edition or not).
Anyway, here is a little picture of ‘Cute As A Button’:
I’m going to keep this brief, as I don’t want to bore anyone. Here are my main observations after two heavy-ish coats of ‘Cute As A Button’:
- It has a lovely ‘glass-like’ look even from the first stroke
- Easily buildable
- Creamy texture
- Streak free
All in all I really like this, and it looks really pretty on, especially with a slick of my favourite Seche Vite over the top, to keep them looking glossy.
