My Beauty Wishlist for June!

Every now and then my mind wanders and my bank account shivers with fear, because it knows that there are things floating round in my brain that I want to buy.

One way of quenching this odd materialistic thirst in the blogging world is to create a wishlist! 🙂

It makes you realise how much you would be spending if you did buy those things, it helps you do that thing where you think ‘do I actually need this’ but also it is there in case you want to buy something from it later and you can’t remember what it was called :’).

June Wishlist

So, for the month of June here are the things in my wishlist!

  1. The Body Shop Shade Adjusting Drops, £10 –

These drops look great, they are available in a light and dark shade so if I was to buy one I’d go for the darker one. You can use these to help change the shade of your foundation, but the most intriguing way I would want to try this is to use it to contour. I’ve seen it being used and it’s quite a thin consistency so it would blend really well.

2. Huda Beauty Lashes in the style ‘Samantha’, $20 or around £13 –

These lashes have been on my radar for a long time, but they are so damn expensive. So many people I follow on Instagram use these and they look insane when on, also they are meant to be reusable over and over again!

3. NARS Orgasm Blush, £23 –

In typically seductive fashion, NARS have nailed a ‘shade for all’ peachy shimmery blush called ‘Orgasm’. This is one of those cult shades that looks amazing in the pan and you just know it will be perfect for all skin tones!

4. Certifeye Eye Glitter, Any, £5 for a mini bottle!

Again, this item crept it’s way onto my wishlist via Instagram and these little bottles of cosmetic glitter are literally the best things I’ve ever seen. You would need an adhesive with these rather than just using a setting spray or something, but they look so good! I didn’t realise you could get mini bottles, I bet that’s all you’d really need!

Also, these guys do faux mink lashes too!

5. Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer, £17.50 –

I almost bought this concealer a few months ago after I bought my Estée Lauder Doublewear foundation, but then I changed my mind! This concealer is meant to be so creamy, medium coverage with a handy doe foot applicator so all in all it seems to be a pretty good bet concealer wise. I’d love to know if it’s worth the price, you can get so many good budget concealers nowadays, like the Collection Lasting Perfection one but I’m still curious about the UD one!

So in total this wishlist with only 5 items this time totals…

‘Brooklyn’ – Ciaté Nail Polish by Olivia Palermo

I have a pretty large collection of nail polishes and to be honest, alot of them sit on the bottom layer (not neatly either) crying out for a glimpse of daylight.

One of the poor little polishes I dug out of the depths was this shade called ‘Brooklyn’ from a limited edition Ciaté set that Olivia Palermo created with them – not specifically for me lol, I’d like to add! This polish came in the Ciaté Fashion Edit set which contains three other lovely shades as well.

Brooklyn Ciate Olivia Palermo

In the bottle, this shade looks beautiful! It’s a very warm toned dark purple (this is hard to describe but in the light it looks like a browny purple). The formula of these Ciaté polishes is questionable – I don’t think it’s fair to say that ALL of their polishes are like this because I don’t actually think that. These ones aren’t very good to be honest – they are very watery and sometimes when I’ve used these ones they take even FOUR FLIPPIN COATS to get a decent opacity (big word, right) 😉

Two years ago I actually bought myself the Ciaté Christmas Advent Calendar and the formula of these ones was amazing! But this range with Olivia Palermo I’m not as convinced because you have to work way too hard to get a normal standard of colour on your nails!

I really tried with this polish to get the opacity to the level it is in the picture above and don’t be fooled – that shine has come from my Trusty Seche Vite, not this polish. Lol, a real pity as it’s a lovely shade it just performs like a poo. P.S Three days on and it’s already chipped. Like. Fo’ real.

Anyway, I’m going to carry on listening to Arcade Fire now.

Bye for now!!

I love you all like a fat kid loves pop tarts

Primark & Mini Lush Haul!

Hi Guys!

I have a video for you today where I go through the things I bought from Primark and I also picked up a few things from Lush!

I love doing hauls and more importantly I love watching them – although they are dangerous and you should put your purse inside a scorpion cage and leave it a good 10 metres away from you (if you know someone with a scorpion I am suitably impressed too).

Thumbnail final!

Fortunately Primark hauls won’t break the bank, depends how spend you get! I hope you enjoy looking at the things I got 🙂 leave me a comment with your favourite!

Thanks for reading/watching, as always 🙂

Using A Beauty Blending Sponge for the first time…

I am a creature of habit most of the time. However, every now and then I bravely venture out into the unknown!!!

I decided it was about time to try applying my foundation with a beauty blender/beauty blending sponge rather than a traditional foundation brush! *nods with conviction*

In my May Birchbox I received this pretty little pink Unicorn Tears Blending Sponge along with a few other mini products. I had always applied my foundation with either a Real Techniques Stippling Brush (back in the day) or a Real Techniques Buffing Brush. Both of these brushes give amazing coverage, but I had heard and seen so many people raving about using a blending sponge that I just had to try it! That was one of the things that actually made me decide to sign up to Birchbox in the first place, after a long time of being curious about beauty subscription boxes.

The sponge itself was available in pink and lilac – typical unicorny colours! Also if you click the Spectrum Collections link here look at their little website icon in the address bar, yes it’s a unicorn lol.

The sponge is firm – firmer than I imagined it to be because when you think of a sponge it’s usually springy and bouncy! The sponge is teardrop shaped so you can use the fat bottom part to cover more face ground quicker and the pointed end is perfect for touching up concealer under your eyes.

I have been practising with this for a few days before writing this post as I wanted to make sure I myself knew how I wanted to use it before telling you all about it in case I had any Roshni Reviews exclusive tips! Haha 🙂

Beauty Blender - Before and After Water!

I’ve found that using this to apply my foundation in this warm summer has been really enjoyable – mostly because before use you are meant to run this under the tap, so the fact it’s been under a cold tap has been quite a refreshing way to do my make up! You run the sponge under the tap to help it expand and once it’s done that, squeeze as much of the water out as possible. I usually then use a towel to dab any water from the outside of it so it’s not too wet when you apply your foundation.

Using a make up sponge like this will also soak up any excess foundation, so I have found that if you put on your normal amount of foundation you might actually need a bit more than this to account for the foundation that gets soaked up. For an extra flawless finish you can always add an extra layer of foundation for more coverage.

What you are left with after bouncing this around your face is really natural, flawless foundation and I think I’m falling in love with it! The foundation I use is the Estée Lauder Doublewear in the shade Ivory Beige and I dot this round my face with a cotton bud, then use the blending sponge to dab/press it into my skin.

Lastly you would need to air dry this sponge, so I leave mine standing on this cute little ceramic tray that says ‘Absolutely Fabulous’!

I hope you found this review useful – I’m so glad I’ve changed up the way I apply my foundation, it actually looks alot more natural!

My Favourite Way of Storing False Lashes…

So if you’re like me, then you stock pile lashes for those occasions when you need them. The odd night out, a party or wedding/special event – but they need to be easily accessible and for me one of the most important things is that they don’t take up alot of room.

Some beauty bloggers I know of have come up with quite fancy ways of storing lashes – Kaushal who has her own very successful Youtube channel takes them completely out of their packaging and keeps them curled up in little compartments in a plastic box.

I prefer to have them still stuck to the plastic packaging as this REALLY helps keep the shape, I find.

How to Store False Lashes

The picture above shows all my lashes in my stashes (lol) before I tried to store them!

My favourite lashes are the Red Cherry Wispy lashes – I get mine from Amazon and they are amazing. You can reuse them around 3 times depending on how much glue you use and they have minimal packaging which is another reason I love them.

I quite like keeping the white part of the packaging and then just disposing of the cardboard around it AND the glue that comes with them. The reason I say that is that I love to use the DUO lash adhesive, it comes in a standard version but being a brunette it also comes in Dark Brown!! Which is genius.

How to Store Your False Lashes

So you can see that taking away the cardboard packaging and just keeping the white sections makes them much easier to store – I’m just using a plastic sturdy tub that some of my indian jewellery came in! It’s perfect and compact, and if you buy multi packs like the Ardell Demi Wispie lashes you see above with FOUR PAIRS then that makes it even easier. By the way ALL of the lashes in the picture above are now in that box!

I hope you liked this post! Simple yet effective, lol

What’s In My Travel Make Up Bag?!

Hello People,

So a few weeks ago I uploaded my video that tells you all about my travel make up and travel skincare and what I like to take it all in. I go through my favourite multi tasking skincare and make up products to show you exactly how light I like to travel depending on what types of looks I’m going for.

My make up bag gets considerably heavier if my travelling involves a night out so if it’s just a chilled weekend then I can usually get away with a few essentials.

Go on, give it a watch and then leave a like if you enjoyed it!

Thanks guys,

The Battle of the Highlighters

Battle of the Highlighters

A few years ago, if someone said I’d be highlighting my face I’d be thinking of something neon pink that belongs in the stationary drawer. Fast forward to 2016 and highlighting is a vital step in most make up wearer’s routines.

When choosing your highlighter I would consider the following things:

  • The formula – cream or powder?
  • The glitteriness – do you want something subtle or IN YO FACE
  • How much you want to spend
  • Whether you want it to be warm toned or cool toned

These sound like scary decisions but actually it’s pretty simple – there are so many affordable highlighters nowadays that it doesn’t have to be a decision that bursts the seams of your purse *great mental image there*

My top picks are in the picture above!

For a iridescent but long lasting highlight I use the Benefit Girl Meets Pearl liquid highlighter which looks like a unicorns barfed it up (by that I mean it looks FABULOUS) – it’s more a cool toned lilac filled highlighter that you can just dab along the high points of your cheeks and then dot down the centre of your nose if you like. This is a click up dispenser bottle and this is a great, tidy way of using it.

For a more subtle highlight that costs a little more (but you get contour too) you could go to Charlotte Tilbury and opt for the Filmstar Bronze and Glow. This medium toned highlight in the duo is SO finely milled it’s really beautiful. Sometimes I wonder if the highlight is TOO finely milled but maybe it’s just me who wants to look like a glitter ball. Lol.

Finally, for the most glitzy highlight you can go for the MAC Soft and Gentle Mineralise Skin Finish. This is probably my favourite highlighter and in my mind I guess I call it the ‘Going Out Highlighter’ lol. The glittery particles in this are larger than other highlights but this still creates a gorgeous gold toned glow on your cheekbones when applied with a feathery make up brush.

What’s your favourite highlighter?

Zoella Sweet Inspirations Range – She’s Nailed it Again…

If you have an internet connection then I am sure that you have heard the word Zoella before – or even watched one of her videos.

She’s a Youtube made blogging icon and has recently expanded her mini empire to have beauty and bath products, she now has two books and has worked with lots of brands in collaborations!

I was a big fan of her first ever beauty range, which was first launched within Superdrug – this one would be classed as the ‘original’…my favourite product from that range was her cute little fragrance called ‘Blissful Mistful’The fragrances have been amazing each time, with the second one ‘Let’s Spritz’ being pretty good but it didn’t manage to knock the original off my favourites list! It was important to be one of the first beauty bloggers in the digital queue on Feel Unique when the THIRD range came out and I can now show you what I got! **BTW big props to Feel Unique for amazing service – everything came like, shrink wrapped and completely damage free, pretty good considering one was a perfume!

Zoella Sweet Inspirations Range

Zoella Sweet Inspirations Mist

Zoella Body Mist

This mist is really beautiful, the whole of this range is designed to be like a French patisserie in it’s packaging and the smell matches this vibe too. It’s full of almond scents – sweet and soft like a freshly baked cake :).

This kind of scent really makes me smile, 1. because it costs £8 only, and 2. because it’s the kind of long wearing scent you can put on and every now and then in the day you can catch a glorious whiff of it and it reminds you that you actually smell of something nice. Unfortunately it’s pretty much just gone on sale and it’s out of stock lol.
Zoella Sugar Dip Bath Salts

The bath salts were something different that I wanted to try – she’s never done bath salts before, only like fizz bars and stuff. So this was really exciting to me and I knew that this would work really well with the kind of scent she’s picked for this range.

Zoella Bath Salts - Resealable!

You can tell she is actually a normal person when you look at this product – she’s common sensical (yeah, that’s a phrase, pshh) enough to include a little sticker to reseal the pack! These bath salts have a slightly strong macaron scent than the mist as they essentially need to be concentrated…but they are lovely to use, dissolving in a bath within around 5 – 10 minutes and creating a lovely soft scent. These only cost £6 so they would make a perfect birthday gift!

Scented Bath Salts - Zoella

The Double Créme body cream is a lovely play on words and an even lovelier scent. I know this is going to just sound like I’m raving about everything but I actually do love everything I got – the packaging is ON POINT and the scent is just so enjoyable to wear. The body cream is only £5 – bargain!

Have you tried anything from this range or the ranges before? What’s your favourite product?

Thanks for reading guys,
