Hands up who wants better skin? *waves hand frantically*

Hello you lovely lot!

I am here to review the Magnitone Lucid, a rotating facial cleansing brush that aims to make your skin feel and look better within 7 days. I was very kindly gifted this product and if you keep reading until the end of this post you’ll get to browse the range AND get a unique 20% off discount code *eek*.

This facial cleansing brush is travel friendly, completely safe, available in a range of colours and it actually does work.

Basically although it is a powered brush, you can use it safely within the shower or bath which I find amazing. Not only that but when you charge it, it has a wireless charger where you use the provided magnet connector and THAT is what the charger cable goes into. Genius. You can use it with your normal cleanser and it is safe enough to use every day because it automatically stops after one minute which should be sufficient cleansing time.

The thing I love about this product is that it has a normal and sensitive mode, the facial brush is great quality (bristles wise) and the product teaches you the optimum time to cleanse and it beeps when you need to move to the next area of your face. It’s like year 3000 over here. It also comes with a year warranty and the option to purchase multiple brush heads which is good if you want to use a completely dry head each day. My brush head tends to stay a little bit damp the next day but I don’t mind very much.

Here’s the little blue skin saviour!

I am genuinely surprised and impressed with how good my skin feels AND looks. You can really see a difference, it fits in perfectly to my daily getting ready routine. (I shower at night so I just use my Magnitone for the minute then leave it on its side to dry overnight).

My skin feels softer, looks clearer (the other day I forgot to put concealer on. Like, wat.)

If you purchase and use this product, don’t be alarmed if you have a mini spot breakout as this is perfectly natural as you start to get your skin into a cleansing routine. There is a sensitive mode on the brush (press the button twice) which is ideal for me.

If YOU would like to get your mitts on a Magnitone Lucid, you can browse their products here, and below I have put the 20% off discount code for you to use!

I hope you enjoyed this post, I will be back rambling very soon and I hope you guys give Magnitone a try! It’s definitely worth it.

Sunday Review – Slendertox Tea 14 Day Teatox!

So I ‘attended’ a twitter party recently and was very, VERY kindly gifted a sample of Slendertox Tea!

I had never really been one for diets, to be fair when I was younger I pretty much was able to eat what I wanted without putting any weight on. Nowadays, if I have a few too many McDonalds then it goes straight onto my bottom half. My top half pretty much stays the same, as for most people it’s waist, thighs and arse that tends to grow!

I was intrigued to see how a tea can cleanse your body, it is essentially designed to be a detox tea. It contains all natural ingredients, so it helps to speed up your metabolism and keeps you energised.

Slendertox kindly sent me a 14 daily Teatox, with an extra Sleeptox which you drink on alternate nights. Before starting the Teatox I weighed myself (Oi you lot watch it I’m not saying the weight on here!) so I also planned to weigh myself afterwards to see if there’s any difference! I made a decision to eat properly and healthily, with little luxuries in moderation (such as sugar in my tea). I know that this might mean I can’t tell whether the better eating or tea has made a difference but I’ll be honest in my review!

Day One of Teatox:

The smell is awful when you open the packet, savoury and herby and bleurgh. BUT the actual tea doesn’t taste too bad, obviously not the same nice comforting taste as normal tea bags but it’s definitely drinkable. Slendertox actually say you can add a sweetener such as honey and I opted for unrefined brown sugar which made it a bit more enjoyable!

Day Five of Teatox:

I actually feel slimmer! Safe to say the way this tea works is to speed up your metabolism and it really does CLEANSE your insides. If you know what I mean. It makes your tummy a bit gurgly but that tends to chill out a bit after a while. I most definitely don’t feel as tired as I usually do in the evenings after work, so all in all really happy so far!

Day Nine of Teatox:

What I’ve noticed at this point is that I have now become familiar with the taste of this tea and my favourite way to drink it is with a spoonful of unrefined brown sugar in it. Not ideal, I know but I love sweet tea. I feel much slimmer in the day, my metabolism is definitely faster and I have ALOT more energy. I haven’t noticed a stark difference in my figure (I did go out to eat the other day) but we will see when we get to the weigh in!

Day Eleven of Teatox:

Wow, I’m digesting food quick! That’s the main thing I’ve noticed over the past few days. I can eat a meal and then feel like I have an empty belly not very long after that! Definitely feel more comfortable knowing that my belly isn’t sticking out :).

Last Day of Teatox:

I’ve lost 3kg!!

I’m actually very impressed because I didn’t expect to lose any weight at all. I definitely feel better in myself, less lethargic and a bit slimmer. I would definitely buy this again but not straight away, probably in time for my sisters wedding so I don’t look like a whale in a sari :).

Take a look at their website to browse the range of teas, hey at least this way you know they work!

Real Techniques Bold Metals – Oval Shadow Brush

Happy Saturday to one and all 🙂

Today I have a review for you of one of the brushes from the (not so) new Real Techniques Bold Metals range. I treated myself by using my Boots points to pay for this brush as it’s quite pricey, but trust me it’s well worth it. (I’m writing this as I listen to a Spotify Throwback playlist and Brandi just came on!)

I was in two minds whether to get the contour brush or this one, but to be honest my face is so round that buying a contour brush would be a waste of money! Finding my cheekbones is like finding a needle in a haystack.

This is the Oval Shadow brush, which is a dense, VERY soft eyeshadow blending brush. I love that it has white bristles as you can clearly see when it’s dirty and needs cleaning. It will practically shame you each day you look at it and NOT clean it.

I am not convinced that the whole handle of the brush is metal. The brush itself is pretty light, so I think the section that holds the bristles is metal and the long handle is actually plastic of some sort. It really is beautiful though, with a shiny chrome handle and a bright white set of bristles.

The handle is designed to help you apply the right amount of product and the diamond shaped handle means that it won’t roll of your dressing table or chosen flat surface. Personally I think that is GENIUS and I have no idea why brands haven’t thought of that before Nic and Sam from Pixiwoo (and Real Techniques).

The bristles them selves are quite soft, but because they are quite densely packed I wouldn’t recommend going too gung ho under the eye as this is a bit too rough to use on that delicate area of skin.

All in all it’s a great brush for packing on and then blending out eyeshadow, which is what I will be using it for mostly. I have always loved Real Techniques, the idea of a metals range is great for those looking for a beautiful brush with soft bristles that will last for a long time.

What do you think of the Bold Metals range?

Best Make Up Brushes For…

Today I’m going to give you a little sneak peek into the make up brushes that I find best to use for certain parts of the beauty routine. These brushes in particular come from only two brands: Real Techniques (which are basically Holy Grail) and Zoeva.

The brushes I have picked work best for the processes I pick out below, but this is more than likely a very personal preference. Many people will use brushes for the purpose written on their shiny little handles but NOT ME, rebel central.

Here we go…

If you fill your eyebrows in with eyeshadow, one of my top picks for brushes is the Zoeva 317 Wing Liner brush. This is the perfect width and is ideal for getting a precise arch on your brows. Also, the sturdiness of the brush means that you can hold the brush and flick upwards to create the front of your brow.

The Real Techniques Stippling Brush (above centre) is the FIRST ever make up brush that I bought myself. The colour on my handle has faded from the sun light now but the brush still performs the best at applying light foundation and buffing in concealer around the face. Using circular motions to work the product into your skin gives a flawless finish and it’s a great shaped handle which makes it easy to work with.

Best for…BRONZER

I love the Real Techniques Multitask Brush, I have two so I use one for bronzer and the other for blush or powder. When used with a light hand, this is perfect for building up product slowly to make sure that you don’t go overboard. It’s as soft as you like and it washes and dries great, plus after it looks as good as when you first bought it.

I first saw Gabby ( the Youtube use this brush in this way on a video and this is the way I have been using it ever since. I think this is a contour brush but the size of it just fits perfectly under the eye. You can easily use the tip of this brush to blend out any concealer to make sure it doesn’t settle into creases, and it brightens up the eye area incredibly when you use a good concealer and this brush to disguise dark circles.

The Zoeva 227 Luxe Soft Definer is the ideal shape and size for getting right into the crease to blend eyeshadow. The bristles on mine have gone a tad awry but I’m not sure if that’s because I haven’t been looking after it right :S. It’s soft, not the softest, but my goodness does it blend eyeshadow well.

There’s my round up of the best brushes in the wild wild drugstore!

Favourite Scents for Summer

We are well into May now and the sun is shining well after we all get home from work. That means barbecues, drinks and fun times in the sun. To take you from spring into summer, I’ve put together my three favourite fragrances to wear in summer.

When it comes to fragrances that are light and fresh, these are definitely the kinds of scents I reach for in the summer time on a daily basis.

The fragrances above (back to front) are: The Body Shop Body Mist in Vanilla, Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess and the Zoella Blissful Mistful Body Mist. Apologies if you click on the Bronze Goddess link and find that it’s out of stock, that stuff seriously flies off the shelves! Online or real life…

The most summery of all of these fragrances has to be the Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess. This is the definition of summer for me, it’s the most beautiful coconut-ty beach-y scent you could ever dream of. What’s great about this is that it has a slight smokiness (which is a bit sexual!) that you can smell once it’s actually on your skin, about 5 minutes after you’ve applied it. It’s perfect for day time, night time, any time really! My ultimate fave.

The Body Shop Vanilla Body Mist is a bit of a throw back to my teen years. It’s ideal if you can’t afford scents like the Bronze Goddess which is about £45. This is a very warm, sweet but not too sweet scent that’s perfect for daytime and work. A spritz of this on the wrists, side of the neck and hair is the ideal way to apply as you pirouette on out the door.

Finally, this Zoella Body Mist is the most unusual of the bunch IMO. This packaging is gorgeous, not quite a rose gold but more of a rose copper? *can you get that?!*

The scent as I’ve said is quite unusual, the way I would describe this is probably an orange-y clean, fresh smelling scent. It’s the kind of scent that lasts really well and you can put it on in the morning and then every now and then through out the day get a whiff of it and think ‘mm’. (Well, you might do).

What are your favourite scents for summer? Am always open to recommendations!

MAC + Lorac Pro Palette Make Up Look

Hello Everyone!

Today I have a FOTD (shh the F stands for ‘Face’) for you with a little run down of what I used in order to create this eyeshadow look below. This mainly uses a MAC make up palette that was probably limited edition (sorry) and the Lorac Pro Palette which I’ve been loving for the past month or so.

Keep reading if you want to see what I used to get this look! It’s the first one I’ve done of it’s kind and I’m actually really pleased 🙂 (don’t rain on my parade!) 😀

Here are the products that I used!

Left Hand side is all Eye products, Right Hand side is for Eyebrows!

The shades I used from the Lorac Pro Palette, were Taupe, Cream, Nude and Sable.

The shades I used in the MAC mini palette were Brun, Enviable (discontinued I think) and Smut. The textures of the MAC and Lorac Pro Palette are great for blending, which is the key to getting this to have a smokey feel, with a pop of green in the centre (provided by Enviable).

I used Painterly MAC Paint Pot to block out the eyelid with a neutral base, then I blended Taupe as a transition colour. I built up Sable in the crease with some Brun from the MAC palette.

I took Cream as a brow highlight and used Nude as an inner corner colour applied to the first third of the eyelid. Then I packed on Enviable into the centre of the lid. This really needs to be packed on to get the most colour pay off. I blended the crease out and applied liquid liner and mascara to finish!

Lips I kept quite simple and went for a nude, using a nude lip liner to slightly overline the lips and a cool toned silvery taupe gloss dotted in the centre to make lips appear fuller.

What do you think to this look?

Thanks for reading!
