Lengthy Lashes – Maybelline Lash Sensational…

Hello Everyone! 🙂

After an Easter hiatus, I’m back and ready to update you on the best of beauty! Today I have a mini review to chit chat about, it’s a Maybelline mascara that I bought a few weeks ago from the drugstore, so you may have read reviews of this already. It’s the Maybelline Lash Sensational, the newest mascara brought out by the brand. At only £7.99 it’s a steal, especially if bought from Boots because at the moment they have a 3 for 2 mix and match on all cosmetics! It claims that the brush captures the tiniest of lashes and with a more liquid based formula and less wax it creates more black and defined lashes.’

Usually I don’t stray from my favourite mascaras, but I wanted to try one from the drugstore that was different to the Maybelline The Falsies that I love so much. The one thing I don’t like about the Falsies mascara is that the colour can be quite an ashy black. Now I’ve read the blurby bit on the Lash Sensational it makes me think it’s the wax count that creates the ashy look.

I’ve tried the Lash Sensational and my verdict is that I like it! Don’t worry I will say more than that… It is a very black, very liquid formula which means it doesn’t get claggy or clumpy. The plastic brush is something that I usually don’t like, but in this case it is so rigid that it ensures your lashes are separated and an equal amount of mascara is applied to each lash.

I’ve taken a little before and after picture to show you (ooh get me) below:

The mascara is really lengthening and so far hasn’t got clumpy! (I have only been using it for about a week or so). The only thing that I don’t like about it is that it’s really hard to get off! I use the Simple Eye Make Up Remover so if you make your cotton pad REALLY wet and hold it on slightly longer than normal it isn’t too bad. Even with my Clinique Take The Day Off cleansing balm it’s still quite hard to get off.

All in all, I really like the formula (it’s definitely long lasting) and the curved plastic brush is a surprisingly brilliant performer :).

Have you tried this mascara? What’s your favourite drugstore mascara?

Thanks for reading y’all 😀

Recent Beauty Revelations

Hello Everyone!

It’s almost Easter and that means a nice long weekend 🙂 I’m thinking some bacon sandwiches would be nice to wake up to on Good Friday morning (food is always on my mind). I was doing my make up the other morning and discovered several stark beauty revelations in one go. I thought you fellow make up mavens would be interested and intrigued to find out what they are!

In the words of Kenan and Kel ‘Awwwh here’it goes!’:

1. The smell of a new mascara

Oh good god, it gets to a point where you may either have had the same mascara on the go for a few month OR several on the go for a while. Now, the moment when you get a NEW mascara is just blissful. The lovely perfumed smell, the sound as the brush pops out of the tube and the near  perfect application with a fresh formula. Ahh, to hell with mascara monogamy.

2. Cream blushers will last you forever

I have been using my Max Factor Cream Blush for a few months already and it has only just started to see a slight dip in the little pot. This stuff will seriously last a long time, as it is so pigmented so you need very very little. I love the sheer, natural finish that it gives. It just means that when you are 80, you will have the same cream blush to impress the old biddies at bingo.

3. Hold your eyelash curler right

Now I have the Shu Uemura eyelash curlers that are one of the best you can get, they have serious curling power and I’m really not used to it. This is why, you must must hold the eyelash curlers straight on. If you tilt them, or have them wonky what will happen is your inner eyelashes will look beautiful and curled, but your outer corner eyelashes will get BENT. As well as this, if you use good eyelash curlers like the ones I have, it is hard to unbend the bend you have created. #firstworldbeautyproblems

4.The danger of using a long handled make up brush and a hand held compact

When I say compact I mean POWDER compact. I’m sure that at least one of you readers (of the three readers I get) has had this problem before. For example if you are blending your eyeshadow out holding a compact mirror, you may get that eye popping moment of panic when the pointy end of your brush gouges out a chunk of your powder because you are holding your brush too close to it. I have had this before with my NARS Laguna bronzer and this was my reaction:

5. Be careful if you have sensitive skin

My skin has always been quite sensitive. I’ve had to be careful what kinds of shower gels and soaps I’ve used in the past, but one thing I’ve noticed is that recently when applying concealer to my under eyes if I leave it on too long unblended it starts to STING. It may just be the Maybelline FIT Me concealer that I have been using for the past few months, I never used to get it with the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer. Cut to me desperately grabbing my make up brush to blend it out just to make sure my under eye skin doesn’t get burned off. Ah.

Have you made any make up revelations recently?

Any plans for Easter? Shopping by any chance?!

I hope you all have a LOVELY Easter,

Love from Roshni xxx
